If you open gifts in Pokémon GO, you can usually look forward to a few useful items. However, the constant clicking dampens the fun.
Gifts were introduced in Pokémon GO in the summer of 2018: small, pyramid-shaped boxes that you can send to your friends.
And it’s worth it: on one hand, you get points towards your friendship level for exchanging gifts, which can in turn give you plenty of XP.
On the other hand, gifts are a good way to obtain items like balls and the like when there aren’t many PokéStops around the corner. Additionally, there are also 7 km eggs from gifts. These are important, for example, in the ongoing Hisui event, as interesting event monsters can be found in them.
However, one problem remains unsolved to this day: if you have many friends and many gifts, you can expect a long opening session.
This is the problem: The gifts have been changed from time to time over the years. For example, you can now also stick stickers when sending them to friends. Yet, to this day, there is no solution to the fact that opening gifts can simply take a very long time.
You can have up to 400 friends in Pokémon GO and open up to 20 gifts per day (unless the number is temporarily increased during an event).
But unfortunately, this always involves a somewhat clunky, longer animation in which the gift can be opened. Doing this 20 times in a row means you lose quite a bit of time.
This problem is currently being discussed in the Pokémon GO subreddit. A user states: “There should be a ‘Send All’ and ‘Claim All’ button for gifts.” The idea behind it is to open all gifts with one click that you have received. With the Send-All button, you would then also send a gift back to each trainer from whom you received one.
The user believes that this would be a fix that would make playing more enjoyable. This way, you could get all gift problems out of the way quickly.
In the comments, trainers bring up additional areas where Pokémon GO could speed things up, such as multiple trades with other trainers. Only one Pokémon can be traded at a time, though.
However, to this day, there is no indication that any improvements are planned for either gifts or multi-trading. Significant changes to the player experience in Pokémon GO are relatively rare.
However, Niantic recently introduced a new feature: The daily adventure incense. This is supposed to increase and bring rare spawns for you for 15 minutes and is good for a walk.
