During Ubisoft’s financial conference on July 17, details about the beta registrations for The Division 2 were revealed. These suggest that the sequel to The Division could be similarly successful.
The Division 2 is still a while away. Many fans are looking forward to the continuation of the online shooter, which is already reflected in initial numbers. At a financial conference, Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubisoft, announced that the beta of the online shooter has already set a record from its predecessor.
Meanwhile, The Division 1 was already an extremely successful game: Even the then beta broke with 6.4 million participants the record for the most registered players. At launch, a sales record was also set, and The Division became the most successful game in Ubisoft’s history, having been played by over 20 million players since its release on March 8, 2016 in total.

Beta record of The Division 1 set: Apparently, The Division 2 is still highly anticipated by many players. According to Yves Guillemot, never before have so many players signed up for a beta in such a short time. Not only that, the number surpasses the previous record of the first part by four times!
So far, a whopping 25.6 million players have registered for the beta. An incredible number. Thus, the beta of The Division 2 sets the internal record of the first part.
How this will reflect in the sales figures of The Division 2 is still uncertain. A similarly big success as with The Division 1 would be a significant signal to the competition.
