New branded televisions
Black Friday is often used to make some big investments. So why not get a new TV for the PS5 or for a home movie night?
If you really want to buy a new device in 2022, you might want to wait until the end of December. Because at that time, retailers and Amazon start to phase out old models to make way for the next generation. Sometimes you can get up to 50% off the latest models at the end of the year – if you can be that patient.
Even Amazon boss Bezos explained that one should hold off on purchasing large items like televisions on Black Friday, as better deals come later (via marketwatch.com).

Gift cards
Gift cards are always seen as a “cop-out” when you don’t know what to buy for friends, acquaintances, or family members. However, buying such gift cards is almost never worthwhile on Black Friday. This is simply because, gift cards are rarely on sale on Black Friday.
Some providers try to attract buyers by offering 50-euro gift cards for 47 euros. This way, such “best offers” quickly show up in price comparison tools like Geizhals.de and similar sites.

Toys
Already on Black Friday, there are discounts on some toy items at Amazon and similar sites. However, the best deals tend to come after Black Friday. This is explained by Kendal Perez, a savings expert from Coupon Sherpa, in the online magazine Cheapism: “Toys are in high demand during the Christmas season, and retailers often offer higher discounts just before December 25 to tempt parents right before the holidays.”
If you have the option to wait until just before Christmas, you could save a few euros on various toy items. Depending on the product, such deals may vary.
The latest smartphone
Many users consider buying a new phone on Black Friday. Such deals are often presented with coupon promotions (“cashback”). In many cases, however, they are hardly worthwhile, as they are linked to strict conditions, or you need to purchase other products from the same manufacturer.
