Reason 3: Overloaded UI and Poor Menu Navigation
Honor of Kings: World unfortunately suffers from a habit of many Asian free-to-play games: The main menu consists of numerous sub-items, behind which countless features and reward systems are hidden. As soon as you log in for the first time each day, various menus greet you with a color marking, telling you: There is something for you here, come visit!
These are certainly some kind of login reward as well as the in-game shop and the gacha feature, which want to inform you about new offers or cosmetics. But it could also be the mailbox where once again there is a message from the developers. Or the battle pass that has reached a new level.
However, it is certainly not enough to just scan these points once and then be at ease. Instead, the next markers quickly appear as soon as you discover things, master battles, complete quests, or achieve successes. Additionally, the shop and gacha system can never be “muted”, even if you do not want to use them. That can be quite annoying.
It is almost ironic that without these markers, you might not find some important features in the heavily nested menus. For character progression alone, the developers of Honor of Kings: World have come up with numerous elements and upgrade options that influence the strength of your hero. It takes time to get used to it and internalize the menu structure.
