3. Will there be more Darkness classes in the future?
One of the biggest innovations of Beyond Light is Stasis. It consists of:
- The first new damage type in the Destiny universe in 6 years. It complements Arc, Void, and Solar as an element of Darkness.
- Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans each receive a new Stasis class in the DLC. Until now, only expansions of existing subclasses were available.
- Our enemies also gain access to the Stasis element and the nasty ice abilities.
Accordingly, Stasis takes up a significant part of the Vidoc from October 27. For a brief moment, a Hunter is shown equipping the Stasis super:
It states “Select Darkness Subclasses”, indicating that Stasis is not considered a fourth element alongside the three known ones, but is listed separately.
Will Stasis soon gain more varieties? This is a strong indicator that we will soon receive more than one class with a Darkness element.
Since the unveiling of Stasis, Guardians have speculated that we would receive a new element in every part of the DLC trilogy until 2022. Then the three known Light classes would face off against three classes of Darkness.
It also fits with Bungie’s plans, as the major expansion of 2022 is expected to be titled “Lightfall” and represents the final battle between Light and Darkness.
Of course, the Guardians already have ideas for the two missing Darkness elements.
- Toxic: Effects inspired by Dorn, the grenade launcher Dürresammler or the new Exo gloves of the Warlocks that trigger a toxic wave.
- SIVA: The destructive power of nanotechnology from the Golden Age has made things difficult for players in the past and would be great as its own element. We can already see how it could work with the Exotic Perfected Outbreak.

4. Are we working with old enemies against greater dangers?
This Kabal image is causing confusion: Early in the video, it is mentioned that the Vanguard is divided. The reason is the arrival of the Pyramid ships of Darkness. We have been waiting for this arrival for 6 years, and the current season is preparing us for it.
It almost seems as if our familiar enemies are also unsure how to deal with the arrival of Darkness. We see Zavala and Osiris standing side by side with the Kabal, discussing a hologram of the Pyramid ships:
This alliance would be quite curious.
- In Season 10, we shot down their flagship from the sky,
- we fought their commander Ghaul in the Vanilla campaign,
- In Season 9, we erased the 3 Psion sisters from the timeline
- and we haven’t tired of fighting the turtles with everything we’ve got for 6 years.
On the other hand, the Kabal and their Red Legion are virtually leaderless. Instead of using Darkness like the Fallen in Europa, they could ally with us against the Darkness under the motto “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”.
Others think that the mysterious Kabal Emperor Calus could play a bigger role again and send us support. He wasn’t exactly hostile to us in the Leviathan raid and had prior contact with the forces of Darkness in the lore. Then there’s his previously unseen daughter. However, little is known about the Kabal lady.
