What was this event? Today at 8 PM, there was supposed to be a big live event in Fortnite. The event was titled “The End”.
The event did happen, starting a bit later than announced and began just like previous events. A rocket took off, smaller rockets emerged, zoomed around, and crashed into rifts. Tfue and the other players were thrown into the air and pushed back to get a better view of the action.
Then a comet crashed in slow motion onto the world of Fortnite – a kind of vortex formed and sucked up the map.
Only a strange point remained on the otherwise black screen and the option to “log out.”
Tfue has many viewers – No idea what to do
This is how Tfue reacted: During the event, Turner “Tfue” Tenney watched intently.
However, when the screen turned black, he was completely at a loss: What was he supposed to do now?
He shifted in his chair, fiddled with his phone, stood up, and generally seemed restless. More and more viewers were watching him and he didn’t quite know what to offer them. Normally he just plays Fortnite, which he is really good at, but that wasn’t possible now.
Tfue hesitated for minutes about whether he should press “Exit” or not.

Epic seems to be giving Fortnite a break
Here’s what’s behind it: The event is likely a PR stunt by Epic. They are shutting Fortnite down for a while to garner as much attention as possible and direct that attention towards the beginning of Season 11 or the start of “Chapter 2”. Then people will surely be able to play Fortnite again, albeit a changed Fortnite.
It is likely that Fortnite will be back up in the course of next week – at the launch of Chapter 2, whatever that name may imply. Probably a new map.
