Asmongold is considered the biggest MMORPG streamer on Twitch and is also a huge Diablo fan. The release of Diablo 4 was supposed to be a big event, but after a 13-hour stream, suddenly nothing was heard from the 32-year-old. Now he gives the all-clear.
The MMORPG streamer has 2 accounts on Twitch: his main channel Asmongold and his second channel Zackrawrr. As Asmongold, he embodies the persona of a stereotypical gamer, while on the alternative account he is more himself, or so the theory goes.
For the 32-year-old, streaming on the second channel seems to be more relaxed, which is why he has repeatedly taken “streaming breaks” from Asmongold in recent years, but continued to stream as Zackrawrr. The return to the main account seemed to become more threatening for him and even triggered panic attacks.
What does the current development look like? Since December 2022, the MMORPG streamer has not streamed as Asmongold. However, for the pre-release of Diablo 4 on June 2, he celebrated the big return to the main account – although he had threatened to show Diablo 4 on his non-monetized second account.
After only one stream, however, it was already over again; Asmongold has not been on air since. Now he gives his fans an update on what happened.
Asmongold feels pain in his leg after 13 hours of Diablo 4
Why did Asmongold stop streaming? In a post on June 4 in his subreddit, the streamer explained that anxiety and stress related to streaming on his main account were the cause.
However, he can’t really explain it himself: he had streamed for 13 hours, it had been wonderful, then he had gone to bed and three hours later woke up full of unease at the thought of doing it all over again.
The 32-year-old is apparently frustrated by the situation:
If you are one of those people who think this is stupid, embarrassing, or pathetic, you are in good company because I feel the same way. It amazes me that this is even a problem in my life, and I hate myself for allowing it.
Asmongold also says he has already done various things to deal with the anxiety: from medications to conversations with other content creators and friends, but nothing has brought a significant improvement.
This was, according to Asmongold, the real reason for his break: In a video from June 5, the streamer admitted to leaving out some details in his post. Apparently, the 32-year-old had health concerns after his Diablo stream and eventually went to the emergency room.
Asmongold explains: All his friends told him they constantly had pain from sitting too much during streaming and their unhealthy lifestyle. But he had so far been spared. That’s why he has paranoia at the slightest physical pain.
Streamer gives the all-clear: everything is okay
How is Asmongold doing? As the streamer reports, he woke up with pain in his leg after his Diablo stream. This gave him a terrible scare: “You sit for such a long time, then you have pain in your leg, that could be a blood clot.”
However, he did not want to alarm anyone and therefore did not tell either his fans or his father about his fears. However, as the discomfort did not improve, he went to the emergency room on June 5.
In the emergency room, Asmongold was thoroughly checked. As it turned out, the streamer is in perfect health. The examination will probably cost him $420, if his insurance does not cover the costs, the 32-year-old said. But that is well-spent money to gain some certainty and peace of mind.
Asmongold said he has constant panic because of his unhealthy lifestyle that something bad will happen to him because he is approaching 33 and only “two things in life are certain: death and taxes.”
What happens now? Asmongold wants to stream again on his second account for the time being until he feels mentally ready. He also explains that he wants to pay more attention to his health in the future – for example, he will not completely give up sweets, but at least no longer eat them for breakfast.
Currently, he is at 10 out of 10 points regarding “degeneration,” and he wants to bring the value down to 7. Already in the summer of 2022, Asmongold had explained that he wanted to turn his life around after a particularly bad day.
