A newly discovered hitbox has the potential to shake up the weapon meta in Call of Duty: Warzone. MeinMMO shows you 3 weapons that are part of the enhanced weapon meta and have a strong neck multiplier.
What is neck damage? Every weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone has a base damage value that changes with various multipliers depending on where you hit your opponent on the body – which hitbox you hit.
For a long time, it was assumed that there were only 4 areas with their own multiplier in Warzone – chest, abdomen, head, and limbs. But now we also know about a 5th area: a hitbox on the neck.
This hitbox sits right between the chest and the head, allowing you to distribute more damage in the upper chest area without having to go for direct headshots. For many players, especially the chest area is the target with a tendency towards headshots. So if you’re already aiming a bit higher, then hits in the neck hitbox are quite likely, even if the area is pretty small:

What does neck damage do for me? Since almost every weapon in Warzone comes with different multipliers, some weapons benefit from the hitbox more or less. The “neck multiplier” is no exception, but is rather an outlier. The multipliers can vary significantly, and some weapons simply inflict chest damage on the neck, while others inflict full headshot damage.
The “researcher” of this mechanic, TrueGameData, has now shown his meta weapons in a new video and particularly addresses neck damage. MeinMMO briefly introduces you to 3 of his top weapons with neck damage and shows the advantages of the bonus multiplier. We embed TrueGameData’s English video here:
XM4 – Maximum Damage on Head and Neck
What can the weapon do? The XM4 has undergone several adjustments in recent months and fell sharply after a peak. But thanks to the new information on neck damage, the XM4 is likely to receive more attention again. The assault rifle is extremely versatile and can be used effectively at all ranges.
How strong is the neck damage? As strong as headshot hits, which means 50% more damage with the XM4. Instead of dealing 30 damage, neck hits deal 45 damage to the opponent. The headshot area is thus significantly larger.
Normally, you need 9 hits in the first damage area, but with a neck hit, only 8 bullets are enough – TTK drops from 666 to 583 milliseconds. This also applies to range – only 1 hit to the neck or head reduces the TTK from 749 to 666 milliseconds.

- Barrel: 13.5″ Task Force
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
- Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd
Krig 6 – Finally a good reason for its great popularity
What can the weapon do? The assault rifle is currently very popular, and this is mainly due to its easy handling. If you attach the large barrel together with the Field Agent Grip to the Krig 6, there is hardly any recoil left.
How strong is the neck damage? The Krig 6 is designed for long distances and inflicts 27 damage to the chest in its 2nd damage area. A kill requires 10 shots. Neck hits increase the damage to 32 per hit, and if 2 bullets hit the neck hitbox, you reduce the time-to-kill (TTK) from 828 to 736 milliseconds.
Warzone Krig 6 Setup
- Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
- Barrel: 15″ CMV, Military
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
- Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd
OTs 9 – Doesn’t need the multiplier, but has it
What can the weapon do? The OTs 9 is a strong close-range fighter and can impress with a low time-to-kill. In the first damage area, the OTs even surpasses all submachine gun competitors and remains well controllable at the shortest distances.
How strong is the neck damage? Like the XM4, the OTs inflicts full headshot damage to the neck. If you otherwise only hit the chest or abdomen, hitting the neck twice reduces the TTK from a strong 494 to an outstanding 424 milliseconds. You will then need only 7 hits instead of 8.

- Optic: Microflex LED
- Underbarrel: Steady Aim Grip
- Magazine: Fast VDV 40 Rnd Mag
Nearly 1.5 years after the release, the mystery surrounding extra damage below the headshot area has been solved and has the potential to significantly influence the meta. Since the start of Warzone, meta weapons have emerged that were actually worse on paper than their direct competitors.
The neck damage was probably part of these developments and shows that in the end, it is often the “feel” of a weapon that decides, not just the raw numbers. At least until now.
