Patch 9.2 in World of Warcraft is almost here. We’ll tell you what you need to do to be perfectly prepared.
The next big patch of World of Warcraft is finally on the way. The Update 9.2 Eternity’s End will be the final major patch of Shadowlands.
The patch brings a new area and a big raid where WoW fans can let loose. But to be ready for the launch of the patch on February 23, 2022, you should make a few preparations now. We’ll tell you what you should do in the remaining days.
1. Reach Renown Level 80 in All Covenants
Farming renown in the covenants is certainly not for everyone. Some were already fed up after reaching the maximum renown level with their first covenant. However, it is worth switching covenants at least with your main characters and approaching renown level 80 – if you haven’t done so already.
The reason is that with patch 9.2, the class balance will be overhauled. New tier sets and more legendary items will ensure that a previously neglected covenant might be the best option in PvE or PvP.
It would be particularly annoying if, after the launch of patch 9.2, you have to spend many hours leveling a covenant. So it makes sense to get this done now so you can fully focus on Zereth Mortis and the other new content in Eternity’s End.
2. Farm Torghast for More Legendaries
Many players are fed up with Torghast, but a detour there can still be worth it. The reason is that most characters will still need soul ash and soul cinders in patch 9.2 to craft legendary items. While this isn’t necessary for upgrading from rank 6 to rank 7 – it is quite relevant for the previous ranks.
Keep in mind that in patch 9.2 you may need to recraft some legendary items to fill the perfect equipment slot for them. It may also be that what legendary proves to be particularly effective changes – after all, you’ll soon be able to wear 2 of them at the same time, which will shake up the priorities big time.
But don’t worry, you can combine two activities here easily. If you still need to farm renown, just do it in Torghast to kill two birds with one stone.
Also important: In patch 9.2 you can send soul cinders and soul ash to second characters. So you can already farm the resources with the character that gives you the most fun in Torghast.
While there are new layers in Torghast in patch 9.2 that also bring a new resource – this can also be gathered in many other activities. A “Torghast obligation” only exists if you have no soul ash or soul cinders to craft the legendary items.
3. Stockpile Crafting Materials
Unlike many other big patches in World of Warcraft, the previous crafting materials from Shadowlands will not be devalued. While there are new materials for almost all crafting professions, the basic “consumables” will change little.
You will still consume the same potions, use the same sharpening stones, and basically throw the same buff food, even if there are a few cool innovations.
So it can be worthwhile to stock up your bank (or the guild bank) with resources now and have the alchemist refresh the potion supplies.
Because in patch 9.2 many players will return and stock up on consumables, which will drive prices up in the auction house. Having a solid supply can turn out to be worthwhile.
Do you have any other tips for what players should definitely do before patch 9.2? What would you do before the update hits?
