The online shooter The Division 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) is currently in a quieter phase. We wanted to know what changes MeinMMO readers wish for to look back into The Division 2. They expressed 3 major wishes.
Where do the numbers come from? We created a MeinMMO survey on July 1. We wanted to know: “What is the most important change that The Division 2 needs for you to play again?”
A total of 2,874 agents participated in the survey.
The 3 biggest wishes revolve around loot and content
Here are the top 3 changes: The top 3 changes are nearly equal at around 20%.
- “I want more exciting items to hunt, better gear sets, and more exotics” – 568 readers chose this option (19.7%)
- “The way I obtain gear needs to change” – 557 readers voted for this (19.3%)
- “I want more new content” – 526 readers chose this option (18.3%).
95% of our readers are giving The Division 2 another chance
What else did the survey reveal? There are two major insights:
- Only 151 readers said “I will not play The Division 2, no matter what they do” – so only about 5% of all readers. 95% would give the game another chance.
- 431 readers said “I am still playing anyway.”
The game still has a future, even though the desire for change is strong.
Title Update 5 addresses some issues, but not all
Is The Division 2 addressing the issues? Of the 3 wishes from our readers, two will be at least partially fulfilled on July 23:
- Episode 1 brings new content with two missions and expeditions
- Two new exotics are coming to the game. Another change will give them stronger stats – that’s about half a point
- However, a larger, radical change in how players obtain gear is still missing in The Division 2. Only heroic bosses are being adjusted to drop exotics
However, 290 readers also wanted a “rework of the skill system to increase build diversity” – Update 5 seems to aim to deliver that.
The Title Update 5 will be released on July 23 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The survey shows: It is clear that many of our readers are currently taking a break from The Division 2, but are definitely considering a return.
The new Update 5 and Episode 1 seem to hit the mark, although some readers would have wished for an even more radical overhaul.
But by the end of July 2019, Washington, DC, can expect significantly more visits from MeinMMO readers than it is currently seeing.
