The new area Nazjatar in World of Warcraft is full of secrets. We have compiled some for you that are not so well-known.
The most action in World of Warcraft currently takes place in the area of Nazjatar. Besides the story quests and world quests that many players complete for reputation and rewards, there are also plenty of smaller and larger secrets in Nazjatar.
We have put together some of them for you that you can basically complete “on the go” to improve your yield. The effort for this is (in most cases) low.
Eyes open for the Algan
Throughout Nazjatar, you can encounter two types of enemies, “Lost Algan” and “Rebellious Algan”. These enemies are neutral and are otherwise unmarked. The brownish elementals simply march along their path quietly and do not harm anyone.
However, they carry quite good loot! The Algans can drop not only Prismatic Manapearls but also benthic equipment tokens. So if you are still collecting pearls or want to equip twinks, keep an eye out for the Algans.
Note that not every Algan has to have good loot. However, they have a very high chance for it.
It seems that the Algans also have some kind of “cooldown” when it comes to their loot. At some point, they will only drop gray garbage. The next day, they will have better loot again.
Ravenous Slime provides plenty of pets
Another creature that many players might have noticed is the “Ravenous Slime.” These creatures are friendly and stand in the same positions every day. At first glance, they have little use, but for pet collectors, they are especially important – they need to be fed. There are four slimes in total, at these positions on the map:
To feed them, you need to tame any critter from Nazjatar with a Crystal Prism. Capture a critter with the prism and bring it to the Ravenous Slime.
This one will swallow the critter and then dissolve. You cannot feed it again that day. However, the next day it will be back and hungry.
If you do this with a slime for 5 days (you can skip days, that’s no problem), it will turn into a cocoon. You can loot this and receive one of many pets from Nazjatar. Most of them can only be obtained this way.
The necessary Crystal Prisms are usually found at the waterfalls of Nazjatar. They are purple crystals lying around in the world that can be looted.
This is only possible after completing the quest “A Strange Discovery.”
The four giant Coral Ancients
Have you also noticed the giant “trees” that resemble Urtume and cannot be attacked? These are Coral Ancients that need to be awakened from their slumber.
Then they become attackable and can be fought. Each Coral Ancient is awakened in a different way.
- Anemonar (Coordinates 59 / 53) will awaken when you pull a Giant Manta Ray in front of him and kill it there. The Giant Manta Rays fly very high, so you will need either a flying mount or a Goblin Glider to reliably pull it in front of the Coral Ancient.
- Tangwurz (Coordinates 50 / 70) will only awaken when you tame a Mud Snail with a Crystal Prism and pull it right in front of his feet.
- Oronu (Coordinates 77 / 24) apparently has an aversion to undead Hippogriffs. He will only awaken when you have the pet “Drowned Whelp” with you and summon it. You can buy it from Feylana, the Hippogriff Trainer (Coordinates 74 / 46) for 40 Prismatic Manapearls.
- Urduu (Coordinates 31 / 27) has a fondness for his fellow beings – and does not like it when you kill them. You must find a “Sanctified Reef Wanderer” and bring it to him. Kill it right in front of his eyes and he will awaken.
The Coral Ancients are definitely worth it: they can drop “Ancient Reef Wanderer Bark.” This item can be exchanged in your faction’s camp.
It provides not only a hefty 350 reputation points but also 100 experience for all 3 companions in Nazjatar!
