In Fortnite you can cover long distances thanks to vehicles to escape dangers. But Epic Games modified the means of transportation so that they offer even more functionality than before. We will show you what you can do with them now.
What means of transportation are available? In Chapter 2 Season 8, there are motorboats, cars, and trucks as modes of transport. These are scattered across the map. Some can be driven, while others are equipped with immobilizers. Here’s a list of all car types:
- Islander Prevalent (4-seater)
- Victory Motors Whiplash (2-seater)
- OG Bear (4-seater)
- Titano Mudflap (2-seater)
- Motorboat (4-seater)
One long-awaited feature that the community wished for in Fortnite was cars. Since the map of Chapter 2 is very large, it was cumbersome to traverse the map without means of transportation.
Epic did not comment on this, but apparently, something was changed with the cars that allows you to stand on them.
We will show you what you should definitely test with the cars.
1. You can now carry injured players
A horrific scenario that has certainly happened to one player or another: You are in a fight and one of your mates goes down.
You see the only way out is to flee with a nearby vehicle. Before the Update 18.20, you would have left your colleague lying there dying, but that is now a thing of the past.
So if a team overwhelms you, pick up the injured friend on your shoulders, throw him onto a car, and drive off with him.
2. More space for other players
In Solos, Duos, or Trios, the feature is not that interesting, but it would be something for the mode Group Tilt. You can transport multiple people through the new mechanic.
For this, 4 players get into the car while the others jump on top. It has not yet been tested how many can actually fit on the cars, but this should vary depending on the mode of transportation.
3. Stand on cars and shoot players
This feature proves to be most useful in combat. By being on the vehicle, there is no risk of dying from a car explosion when confronted by an enemy. You are thus more agile during combat.
Inside a car, you are still safer, as the outer shell absorbs many bullets. It’s worth a try anyway. Ideally, use the truck. Two players are in the usual seats in the vehicle, and the other two are on the trailer platform.
This way, you have a nice surprise prepared for your opponents and provide variety.
