Today, on April 16, Destiny 2 kicks off the new Spring event “The Revelry” for the first time. Three things make our author Sven particularly excited about the three-week festivities.
What is the Spring Festival all about? The Revelry is a brand new event that sees Destiny 2 don festive attire and celebrate the arrival of spring during Season 6.
The Revelry starts with the Weekly Reset on April 16 and runs until May 7. All Guardians can participate in these festivities – regardless of any additional content.
Participants can undertake a new activity, earn new cosmetics in cool festive designs, or snag a new exotic weapon.

You can find out more about it here: All info about the Revelry event – How Destiny 2 celebrates spring
This is how I have found Season 6 so far: Destiny 2 currently has so much content to offer that it is almost difficult to clear everything that the week has for the Guardians with all three characters. Yet in Season 6, nothing has really motivated me so far.
The new modes Gambit Prime and Reckoning don’t really appeal to me. The Arc Week was a disappointment for me. Only the hunt for the exotic hand cannon Dorn, the PvP, and the Invitations of the Nine have kept me engaged so far.
That’s why I think it’s worth checking out the event: While certainly not all Guardians will feel the same way, some players might feel just like that.
The Revelry could bring some fresh air and more variety to Season 6, allowing Guardians to immerse themselves in Destiny 2 even without Gambit Prime and Reckoning. Three things in particular make me really excited about the event and Destiny 2.

The Greenbriar – The new event activity
This is the Greenbriar: With the Revelry, a new activity makes its debut in Destiny 2, called the Greenbriar.
This is an alternative and beautified version of the Infinite Forest on Mercury – a kind of arena that gets reassembled from many different parts with each run, confronting Guardians with new situations and enemies.
This is how the Greenbriar plays: The Greenbriar is supposed to play similarly to the Haunted Forest during the Festival of the Lost, but with more twists and turns.

The goal is to fight through as many rooms as possible. The more of these rooms you master, the more time you have afterwards to face the 5 bosses of the activity and collect the loot.
This is why I am looking forward to this activity: When the Infinite Forest was announced and introduced with the “Curse of Osiris” DLC, I had high hopes for this activity.
I was initially looking forward to a roguelike experience where I had to push deep into a randomly generated dungeon and could continually collect better loot.

But like many other Guardians, I was disappointed. The Infinite Forest turned out to be essentially a prettier landing zone and a connector between different level areas.
Then Bungie reinvigorated the Infinite Forest with the Festival of the Lost by bringing it back as an event activity called Haunted Forest. The Haunted Forest then became exactly the activity I had hoped for with the Infinite Forest.
You had 15 minutes to battle through numerous enemies and bosses in randomly generated areas. Once you defeated the final enemy, the activity would restart at the next level – with increasingly stronger foes and bosses.

The Haunted Forest demonstrated the potential of the Infinite Forest and was received so well by many fans that they demanded its permanent inclusion, which did not happen.
With the Greenbriar, a very similar activity is returning that I believe will provide numerous fun rounds with friends or random players. If the Greenbriar comes even close to the Haunted Forest, then in my opinion, a visit is definitely worth it. I can hardly wait to finally dive into the Greenbriar and explore the new activity.
The Arbalest – a new Exotic
The Spring event brings the next new weapon Exotic: During Season 6, two new exotic weapons are set to be introduced. The hand cannon Dorn can already be earned. With the Revelry, the second weapon Exotic comes into play – the fusion rifle Arbalest.

This is what makes the Arbalest special: It is the first kinetic linear fusion rifle in Destiny 2. The Arbalest fires projectiles that deal massive damage to enemy elemental shields (even though the weapon is kinetic). Additionally, enemies become temporarily more vulnerable to kinetic damage when you destroy their elemental shield with the Arbalest.
That’s why I am looking forward to the weapon: This new exotic weapon sounds exciting to me after a long time and especially really exotic – at least on paper. Plus, it just looks really cool.
I am therefore all the more eager to earn this gun and finally try it out in practice. Soon we should see whether the weapon is worth it only for collectors or if you can mow through enemy ranks with it.

Whether the weapon will remain directly available beyond the event, whether it will only drop randomly from exotic engrams like the Thunderlord, or even completely disappear after the Revelry is not known. So if you are interested in the Arbalest, you should definitely check out the Spring event.

Event-Specific Rewards
These rewards come with the event: The Spring celebration “The Revelry” has numerous new event-specific rewards. Many of them have already been leaked some time ago – including ghosts, sparrows, and new armor sets.

You can take a closer look at them here: These rewards will be available in the Spring event of Destiny 2.
Most rewards can be earned through participating in the event. Currently, there are only two items available for direct purchase. The good news is that with the Joyous Event Engrams, from which the majority of the event loot comes, a knockout system is in place. There are no duplicates until you have collected all new items from the event loot pool.
As a dedicated collector, I am now looking forward to the new event loot.
These are the rewards I am particularly looking forward to: Even if the event loot doesn’t always appeal to me – there’s quite a bit this time that I absolutely want to have.

For one, I am really taken with the event armor sets from the Eververse. I think the appearance this time is really great, and I find the enhanced effect of the new buff elixirs with each additional armor piece cool. I have set myself the goal of completing all three sets with all Guardian classes.
Additionally, both ghost shells, the cool golf gesture, and both sparrows are required this time. I find almost all the cosmetics successful this time. And these are only available during the event. So if you’ve got an eye on one or the other cosmetic, a visit is probably unavoidable.
What do you think of the Spring event? Will you check it out? Or does the Revelry not appeal to you?
