Move or Die
Genre: Jump & Run | Developer: The Awesome Guys | Platform: PC, PS4, Android | Release Date: January 21, 2016 | Model: Buy-to-Play
What kind of game is this? This award-winning game on Steam is officially described as a party game “that ruins friendships!” Because it is fast-paced and chaotic, and those who stand still die.
Additionally, every 20 seconds, something radical changes in the game, and you can never be sure that you have the situation completely under control. The game is designed for 4 players, and you can play either locally together on the couch or online against other players or bots.
What is the gameplay like? Move or Die is basically a competitive PvP jump & run. Four players bounce around a stage until only one is left alive. Your avatars are cute little comic creatures that can quickly burst brutally if, for example, you stab them from behind with a chainsaw or blow them up with a rocket.
Those who stand still constantly lose health; only those who move survive. The maps can also be dangerous and offer obstacles. Additionally, something changes every 20 seconds. So it can happen that suddenly the map is pitch dark, or suddenly every player has a jetpack, or weapons suddenly come into play that weren’t there before. You have to be constantly on guard and quickly adapt to new situations to win.
The developers themselves have packed in countless game modes and continuously supply new content. If that’s not enough, you can also draw from a huge treasure trove of wacky modes and game elements created by the eager community of Move or Die.
Why should you play it as a Squid Game fan? In Squid Game, participants never know what to expect next, and those who do not quickly adapt to the situation usually die quickly. This deadly uncertainty is the core of Move or Die.
Here, too, you may have to completely rethink every 20 seconds, and those who were in the lead suddenly find themselves confused when the rules change and a often rather unfair modifier interferes with the game.
For those who know Squid Game, this may remind them of a certain game that suddenly gains another unfair component and takes out various players.
