Rockstar has put a lot of love into the details of NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2. Their daily routines are completely scripted. From getting up, to working, to sleeping. In the video, you will see the daily routines of three residents from Valentine.
The vibrant world in Red Dead Redemption 2 impresses many players. There are impressive places with stories that immerse you when you visit. And at every corner, you encounter NPCs that react to the behavior of the players.
Rockstar has even cared for the lives of NPCs and given them a daily routine.
The Activities of NPCs in RDR 2
The YouTube channel DefendTheHouse followed three NPCs from Valentine for a day. They filmed what tasks they performed and where they would rest afterward. A visit to the saloon is a fixed part of the routine. Moreover, they all have different tasks.
What does NPC 1’s day look like? The first person in the video is a man who apparently lives alone. He goes out to work at 8 in the morning. He works on a farm and then goes to the saloon in the evening to drink. Around midnight, he heads home to unwind from the day. He is more of a loner.
NPC 2 has a more exciting day: Compared to the first person, there is more happening in the daily life of person 2. The man likely lives in the saloon. At least he wakes up there and falls asleep there in the evening. During the day, he works in town, building houses. In between, there are drinking breaks that he dedicates to his flask.
When he finishes work, he goes to the saloon, where he then finally falls asleep with his head on the table around 1:00 AM and spends the night there.
Some NPCs deal with the brutality of the players.
What makes NPC number 3 special? The older man starts his day by chopping wood. He likely lives in a tent outside of Valentine. During the day, he helps on a farm and feeds the animals. There, the man also has his meals. In the evening, he goes for a drink in the saloon. He ends the day by the campfire in front of his tent playing harmonica.
This is what the community celebrates: On Reddit and YouTube, the video by DefendTheHouse is hotly debated. The community is excited about how many details Rockstar Games has dedicated to the world of RDR 2.
“Am I the only one thinking this, or is it quite amazing that NPCs lead a real life instead of just standing around or going somewhere?” asks a Reddit user.
Others report that they also wanted to follow NPCs. But the AI then got angry because the tracking was too obvious.
