Valiance Online – Focus on life outside the city
What is Valiance Online? Valiance Online also wants to immerse you in a world full of superheroes, but it brings some notable differences compared to the other two games:
- It focuses not only on combat but also on general content like crafting or exploration.
- Life takes place not only in a large city but also in nature, where you encounter animals to hunt.
- You have access to 11 classes that provide a fixed playstyle.
Who is developing it? Valiance Online is being developed by Silverhelm Studios and SHOGN. The development began in 2013 and has since raised over $70,800 from players’ support.
The MMORPG was long considered the most developed of the three superhero games. However, it has noticeably fallen behind since 2018.
What is the current status of the game? The MMORPG is currently in an investor alpha where selected individuals can already dive into the game world. However, Valiance Online reached this stage as early as late 2018.
Since November 2018, there have been no new updates on the official site.
What does the future look like? On October 16, 2019, Aaron Victoria, Programming Director of the game, gave an interview to the Massively website. He confirmed that the superhero MMORPG is still in development.
Currently, 14 paid individuals are working on the game. The focus is on finishing the game’s map. This work is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. After that, there will be several tests, including public test weekends. One such test is coming soon, from August 10 to August 16.
This will likely show how far the MMORPG has actually progressed. There is still no release date.
For fans of MMORPGs, it hasn’t been a spectacular year so far. However, for superhero fans, there is now Marvel’s Avengers. We at MeinMMO have already played the action game and written a first experience report.
