Update from June 14: Many games from the original list have since been released. Lost Ark, for example, had a strong start on Steam and has even fallen in popularity.
V Rising and Diablo Immortal have also been released and achieved successes – even though there is quite a large controversy surrounding Immortal, not only regarding the discussed Pay2Win but also concerning alleged loot limits.
We now even know that Diablo 4 will be released in 2023. At the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022, surprising new gameplay for the game was showcased, along with the last class introduced, the Necromancer.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

What is Darktide? Darktide is developed by the same team behind Warhammer: Vermintide 2. The new hack and slash is the spiritual successor to the series, set in a different environment.
In the famous world of Warhammer 40,000, you play a team that is supposed to clean up in one of the oversized megacities (“Hive City”) of the Empire. The city of Tertium is at risk of succumbing to chaos, and you are supposed to prevent that.
With a group of up to 4 different characters, you shoot, saw, and cast your way through proverbial waves of enemies, defeating champions and bosses while pushing chaos back piece by piece.
The dystopian sci-fi game focuses on co-op and the common goal at increasingly higher difficulty levels, where you can experience the story portioned into missions anew each time.
Who should check out Darktide? Anyone who enjoyed Vermintide or is interested in games like Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood will also find joy in Darktide. The gameplay principle is nearly identical.
Darktide is also suitable for anyone who likes Warhammer and grimy science fiction. Unlike in the more famous Warhammer titles, where you often play the superhuman space marines, here you are more like foot soldiers that need to clean up.

When and where is the release? Darktide will be released on September 13, 2022, for PC and Xbox as an exclusive title. A PlayStation version is currently not in sight. Although the game is supposed to be a Buy2Play title, you do not necessarily have to buy it.
