You generally like cooperative games and enjoy communicating with your teammates. While you can certainly sail the seas as a lone pirate, the focus of the game is clearly on cooperation – only then does Sea of Thieves reveal its true potential.
Passionate group players will love Sea of Thieves. Being on a ship together with two, three, or four players brings real joy: One is at the helm, one reads the map, and the others are in charge of sails and spotting enemies. What often ends in chaos is also a lot of fun and creates unforgettable shared moments that will bring laughter for days afterwards.
Better keep your distance if:
You do not like co-op, do not care for comic graphics, or expect a full-fledged MMO. Because the pirate adventure does not appeal to everyone.

Remarkable is also the way in which the game, through clever mechanics, ensures that both players must continuously and significantly communicate, interact, and cooperate to progress in the game – all without it ever feeling forced.
As the story progresses, players will, among other things, find a firearm. Both must agree first on whether they want to keep the weapon or who will take it. Only then does the story advance.
The players are frequently faced with decisions that have consequences for the progression of the game. There is no fixed division of roles. Dialogue options are always available for both protagonists. Both are free in their actions, and there are always multiple ways to master a situation.
It is ideal for you if:
You appreciate high-level co-op gameplay and exciting, cinematic storytelling. Gameplay-wise, the game is hard to categorize and compare with other games, but it offers everything that a co-op heart desires. You must constantly communicate, search for new solutions together, formulate plans, try out different strategies, and make joint decisions that significantly influence the future course of your adventure – all while being on the couch together. If this appeals to you, A Way Out will definitely be worth your while.
You might be disappointed if:
You are not particularly interested in the story of a game and prefer to mow down monster waves and shoot aliens or other players in the head without much preamble. Rudimentary shooter mechanics are present – but only where the story requires it. Those expecting multiplayer like in The Last of Us or Uncharted will be disappointed.
It is a pure co-op game – designed for 2 people. There is no PvP, and weapons themselves are not the focus of A Way Out. It is about the intense shared experience of the story, not about competing with others in the game. Those seeking competitive multiplayer elements should definitely steer clear of this game.
