After the quiet turn of the year, there are now plenty of reports in the MMORPG genre. This week, the focus in the world of MMORPGs was primarily on money. MeinMMO summarizes the most important news of the week.
The highlights of the week:
- A streamer shares his opinion, that the Korean version of Throne and Liberty is 100% Pay2Win. Most items needed for progress can be purchased on the marketplace for real money. Even the well-known MMORPG streamer Asmongold agrees with him.
- In contrast, the MMORPG company Nexon has confirmed that it has indeed unlawfully taken money from players. In their game MapleStory, false probabilities for loot boxes were reported for 10 years. The company now has to pay a record sum of 8.1 million euros, but has earned 383.5 million euros from the loot boxes over 11 years.
What else happened? Also at The Quinfall, the focus is on money. Players warn that the MMORPG could be a scam. Only selected players are allowed in the closed beta, and a fee is to be charged for the open beta.
Some fans therefore advise being cautious with the MMORPG. To them, the developer studio does not seem trustworthy enough due to AI support, assets, a small number of employees, and only minor communication.
This is how the development team advertises their MMORPG The Quinfall:
Money is also involved with other MMORPGs
