The next expansion of World of Warcraft brings some major changes. We present to you the most important highlights.
At gamescom 2025, the new expansion of World of Warcraft was presented. Midnight was announced not only with a new cinematic, but there was also a gameplay trailer showcasing new features and areas, providing at least a rough impression of all the content. Today, we want to focus on a few of them and present 3 highlights you can look forward to with Midnight.
The new Eversong Forest
The Eversong Forest is not only getting a simple makeover, but its size will also be significantly adjusted to better match the scale of current areas.
Currently, the Eversong Forest is one of the oldest, unchanged zones in World of Warcraft. After all, the Eversong Forest and its surroundings – including the Ghostlands – were introduced about 20 years ago with the expansion The Burning Crusade. Almost all quests and particularly the graphics there still largely correspond to the state from 2 decades ago.
Even though there is a lot of nostalgia tied to the Eversong Forest, especially from the Blood Elf and RP communities, most people are likely to be excited that the realm of the Sin’dorei will finally shine in new, high-resolution splendor, inviting players back into the Forest of Eternal Spring.
This also includes the city of Silvermoon, which is being completely renovated and will not only shine in new glory but will also finally allow flying. Therefore, players can explore the grand towers of the city and have more options to find a pleasant spot in the city for long RP conversations or just a bit of relaxation.
Of course, there remains some concern after Cataclysm that Blizzard might “destroy some nostalgia” here, but the developers have learned from that time, and it is rather unlikely that the mistakes of the past will be repeated.
