Update 10:45 AM: Pre-orders seem to still work sporadically at MediaMarkt or Saturn. Just try again, maybe you will have some luck. We keep our fingers crossed for everyone.
Update 10:42: There are again increased technical issues at Otto. The console is available for pre-orders again, but there are problems with adding to the cart.
Update 10:39 AM: It’s working again at Otto!
Update 10:25 AM: If anyone managed to pre-order a PS5 today, especially in the last minutes, don’t celebrate too early. Many report that despite successful orders, they have not yet received an order confirmation email.
This may be due to the retailers’ systems being overloaded, but it could also mean that in the end no order was completed. After the first wave, numerous pre-orders were subsequently canceled due to technical errors.
Update 10:20 AM: The PS5 has already been sold out at Otto and Saturn, now it seems that MediaMarkt and Saturn are also out of stock. You can still add the console to the cart but checking out doesn’t work anymore. The corresponding button now appears grayed out.
It looks like the quota for the 2nd wave has been used up and the PS5 is sold out again.
Update 10:12 AM: Pre-orders can still be made at Saturn – just keep trying!
Update 10:05 AM: It seems to be working again at Saturn intermittently, but there is usually an error with the cart that ends up being empty.
Update 10:00 AM: Now there are also technical issues at MediaMarkt and Saturn. As feared, the 2nd pre-order wave is going just as chaotic as the first!
Update 9:50 AM: The Otto site is now also unreachable. However, it seems to be working at MediaMarkt and Saturn.
Update 9:40 AM: The second wave at Amazon is over as quickly as it started. Recently, pre-orders were possible on the platform, now the PS5 is listed as sold out – within seconds! There were also technical issues. Reports say that it was not possible to even add the PS5 to the cart or complete the purchase through the cart.
Haven’t secured a PS5 yet? Shortly after announcement of the price and release date of the PS5, pre-orders for the new console already started at Sony. However, these did not go smoothly, started too early, were accompanied by technical problems and the PS5 was completely sold out in a short time.
In short: The PS5 pre-orders ended in chaos and numerous interested parties went empty-handed. Sony later apologized for the chaos and promised a restock. And it appears that this restock is happening today – at least at some retailers. So you can try to pre-order a PS5 again if you haven’t had luck before.
Where can you pre-order the PS5 today?
These retailers are offering pre-orders again: So far, MediaMarkt and Otto have announced on their Twitter channels that they are accepting pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 again today.
There was also an update on the MediaMarkt shop page. Both the digital and the disc version of the PS5 were initially marked with “Available Soon”. Now it says “Online Available Soon.” So it seems that you are not limited to an in-store pickup (which some may have feared).
On Otto’s page, nothing has changed so far for both PS5 versions. However, the tweet was also very clear here.
Reports indicate that some Amazon customers have also received emails stating that there will be stock available there today as well – but despite activated notifications, not everyone has received them.
It appears that it will also work at Saturn.

When exactly can you pre-order the PS5 again today?
What we know officially: In the official statements, it says in the morning of September 25th. At Otto, the time frame is also narrowed down to between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM German time.
What to watch out for: You will likely be able to pre-order a PS5 starting at 10:00 AM. But just to be safe, we recommend checking the relevant online shops earlier regularly.
Because it is not unlikely that things could get chaotic during the 2nd wave again and pre-orders may go online earlier. Additionally, the number of pre-orders is likely to be limited again, only available “while supplies last.” You should generally hurry and keep a keen eye on the relevant pages if you really want to secure a PS5 today.
We will quickly inform you here on MeinMMO as soon as the new pre-order wave has started. If you have received emails or other notifications from other shops and retailers that will also resume pre-orders today, please let us know and others in the comments.
By the way, the initial chaos from the first pre-order wave has apparently not completely settled yet. Another reason to hurry today: PS5: Preorder chaos continues – now hundreds of pre-orders are being canceled
