What kind of streamer is he? Félix “xQc” Lengyel was long the undisputed number 1 on Twitch. In June 2023, he went to the competing platform Kick for a lot of money, which is backed by the controversial online casino Stake.

Due to his success, the 29-year-old is able to send his parents into early retirement and financially support them for the rest of their lives. However, this realization seems difficult for his mother, as she apparently refuses to spend the money that is now available to her. The streamer is frustrated.
Saving despite financial security
Why don’t the parents want the money? In the stream on January 3, 2025, xQc spoke about the situation. Upset, he reports that his mother’s attitude drives him crazy.
“Since I made it, my mother is damn well taken care of,” says the streamer. “The only problem I have with my parents is that my mother doesn’t want to spend money. (…) She doesn’t understand it and that makes me really angry. Every time I see her, I say: ‘Wait, are you still saving? Are you still saving for life 2.0? Are you saving for the next life, is that what we’re doing today?’”
Apparently, his frustration lies in the potentially wasted time in which his mother is not using the money available to her. As a joke, he adds that his mother might be saving her savings because she wants to be prepared when she “respawns”.
What is the reaction of the fans? Fans of the streamer expressed their appreciation for his plans to fully secure his parents.
Statements like “I would really like to do that, it must feel good” or “paying off my parents’ credit card debt was probably the best feeling I’ve ever had” support and appreciate xQc’s opinion (via Dexerto).
However, some people took the opportunity to mock other streamers. With statements like “I wonder if ExtraEmily would do something like that” they refer to a controversy because the streamer had explained that she did not want to pay her parents back the 170,000 dollars for college.
