A former Twitch streamer managed to rise to one of the biggest names in the industry. However, he has had to give up one thing until now: friends. In one of his streams, he explained more about it.
Who is it about? Félix “xQc” Lengyel started in 2016 as a professional Overwatch player. He regularly streamed on Twitch and thus began his career in the entertainment industry.
Over the years, he built up a massive audience and eventually in June 2023 switched to the streaming platform Kick with a million-dollar deal, a direct competitor to Twitch. Here, he regularly streams gaming content or reactions. Some of his content is also uploaded to YouTube.

xQc says he has “no real friends”
While he was live, xQc played Marvel Rivals and said (via kick.com): “I have no real friends, but that’s okay with me.”
What is the reason? The streaming world is, in xQc’s opinion, “pretty cold” and he further stated that without friends he doesn’t have to pretend to be someone else, something he never liked or was good at anyway.
The streamer elaborates that he has let some relationships go, but there aren’t many good relationships in the industry anyway. This is how it goes in every major entertainment industry, and anyone who claims otherwise is just trying to look better.
From his phrasing, it can be inferred that the Kick streamer has always viewed friendships merely as a means to an end, but couldn’t derive anything positive from those relationships.
The chat pointed out to him that he is friends with the Kick streamer Adin Ross. The 29-year-old then replied:
Yes, I am friends with Adin, but I am not an Adin fanboy. I am not dependent on him. That’s not the same. Being with someone every day, ‘Guys, we are best friends’, holding hands – that’s crazy. You only see that in movies.

Clearly, xQc has achieved what he wanted with his good demeanor. He has made so much money with his career as a streamer that he is financially secure.
