EliasN97 surpassed the Hamburger and currently stands at 71,016 active subscriptions (as of August 29, 2023, 11:10 via Twitchtracker).
Additionally, the 25-year-old is currently the most-watched streamer in the world. In terms of watch time, he leaves international stars like Tarik, Ibai, and Gaules behind (via sullygnome).
Record with spicy chips and stinky fish
How did he do it? EliasN97 has been running a subscription marathon since August 13, meaning a continuous stream. With such a marathon stream, Ludwig set a worldwide record of 283,002 subs in 2021, which was then broken in February 2023 by another subathon.
During a subathon, each subscription extends the time the streamer remains on air.
Some believe that the records set in such marathon streams do not really count. After all, the legendary Fortnite streamer Ninja originally set his record without any special subscription incentives.
