At just 20 years old, the Luxembourger “LetsHugo” is one of the biggest streamers in the German-speaking Twitch. To get there, he streamed frequently and a lot. However, health problems have been piling up, which is why he is pulling the emergency brake after 4 years.
What a performance! LetsHugo has been live on Twitch daily for over 4 years. The analysis site TwitchTraker shows that his last day without a stream was on October 25, 2019. Before that, he had been live daily since June 23, 2019, with few exceptions in August.
During this time, a lot has changed for the now 20-year-old streamer: Back then, he usually streamed before audiences in the double digits. Today, LetsHugo has over 700,000 subscribers and averages almost 4,000 viewers in the last 30 days (via sullygnome).
For the Luxembourger, it is getting more difficult to move around unnoticed in public. But this streak should now come to an end, as LetsHugo is experiencing health issues.
After 4 years, it’s over
Why is LetsHugo ending his streak? The streamer is increasingly suffering from health problems. It has been known for some time that LetsHugo has a brain aneurysm, a congenital vascular malformation that can be a trigger for strokes.
In addition, he has also developed heart problems. Apparently, the 20-year-old suffers from stress-related heart rhythm disturbances, which started after gamescom 2023. Recently, he has also been feeling sluggish, lacking energy, and experiencing severe headaches.
At the time when LetsHugo records the video, he has just canceled a stream because he was feeling so bad. Now he wants to take a break and end the streak. The streamer says he just can’t do it anymore.
We have embedded the video here:
What will happen in the future? LetsHugo announces that he wants to take one streaming-free day per week from now on. The decision to end his streak was not easy for him. He has been thinking about it for months, the 20-year-old says.
He emphasizes how much streaming means to him, but with his health issues, everything feels a bit too much for him at the moment.
LetsHugo’s Twitch colleague, the streamer Antonia “Reved” Staab, can probably relate well to this. The 23-year-old has been suffering from severe headaches for years and is now even taking a break from streaming. In a video, she spoke about her health condition:
Reved talks about her Twitch break, says she feels “at 23 health-wise like a 70-year-old”
