The Twitch streamer and YouTuber Daniel “Danny” is accused of having raped his ex-girlfriend “Vi”. Vi posted photos of the court documents on Twitter, which sparked a major outcry. Those who are active on Twitter have surely noticed: “Danny” has been trending in Germany since yesterday afternoon, since July 18.
This is because his ex-girlfriend published a court ruling. According to this ruling, Danny was found guilty of rape in two cases.
In the meantime, she deleted the post, reportedly because it was reported constantly, it stressed her out, and her lawyer advised her to delete it (via Twitter).

According to the documents, the following penalties were imposed:
- Danny was found guilty of raping the 20-year-old twice.
- He received a youth sentence of 1 year and 6 months probation.
- The YouTuber must bear the costs of the entire proceedings.
The post quickly spread on Twitter. In connection with the posting, Twitch streamer Niekbeats and musician t-low came under fire.

What was going on on Twitter? The streamer Niekbeats is currently under criticism for defending Danny at a time when he was already regarded as a potential perpetrator.
A Twitter user summarized how Vi was attacked by the Twitch streamer Niekbeats. Vi writes: She had to hear for years that she was the “psycho ex” who wanted to ruin Danny’s life. This took a heavy toll on her.

Streamer Apologizes for His Role in the Discussion
This is how Niekbeats reacted to his role: Shortly afterward, Niekbeats published a statement in which he wrote that he stands on the side of all victims of sexual violence (via Twitter).
He is ashamed of his behavior and wants to act more thoughtfully in the future (via Twitter).
How are Twitter users reacting to the execution? When you type “Niek” on Twitter, you mainly find accusations and insults directed at the streamer (via Twitter). Twitter users express shock and disappointment as they did not expect such statements (via Twitter). Only a few voices speak out in his favor, saying “we all make mistakes” (via Twitter).
Additionally, many users demand a statement from t-low, who apparently spends a lot of time with Danny at the moment, as he appears in almost every video of the YouTuber. So far, the musician has refrained from doing so.
Danny has also not yet commented on his ex-girlfriend’s statements.

Who is Danny anyway?
The content creator has been a Twitch streamer since 2015 and primarily focused on gaming in the early days. Minecraft was the order of the day back then. He was live almost daily and usually recorded over 200 to 300 streams per year.
Later, the Steam hit Among Us and Fortnite were added. In 2021, his community continued to grow, partly because he collaborated with the big German streamer Papaplatte from time to time.
He was also part of the German Rust event, where many streamers gathered and held role-playing games on their own server. During this time, he already stood out negatively when he asked a female streamer if she wanted to sit on his face.
Furthermore, his content shifted from primarily Minecraft, Fortnite, and Among Us to Just Chatting. Occasionally, he sprinkled in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario 64.
Since 2022, Danny has been streaming rarely and no longer regularly. Instead, he feeds his YouTube channel with content from t-low and his appearances. There is currently almost no gaming content to be seen.
