Actually, the survival MMO Last Oasis was supposed to launch into Early Access on October 10. However, the developers indicate that they need more time to stand out more from other survival games.
What is Last Oasis? The MMO Last Oasis features an interesting story. The Earth has stopped spinning. This has caused much of the world to be burned. Nomads travel with their self-built, wooden vehicles between the last oases to survive.
You belong to these last survivors, gathering resources, defending against mutants and monsters as well as hostile players, and upgrading your vehicle to have better chances. You must always be careful not to get into the direct sunlight, which can be deadly.
Much needs to be revised
What did the developers announce now? The Early Access phase, which was originally scheduled to start on October 10, had to be postponed.
“At the start, we want to stand out from other survival games,” said Donkey Crew’s Project Lead, Florian “chadz” Hofreither. “This means we are taking more time to improve the gameplay and pack in even more content. We have decided to continue to improve the game together with the community in 2020, so that Last Oasis reaches its full potential.”
What exactly is to be improved? The developers indicate that they are working on the gameplay mechanics, items, creatures, buildings, features, and endgame activities to satisfy both PVE and PVP players. Additionally, improvements to existing features are planned.
What does that mean exactly? There are many survival games on the market, including Rust, Conan Exiles, and DayZ. Competing against these titles, which have already built a community, is anything but easy.
Therefore, a new survival game needs to stand out from previous games in some way. And the developers of Last Oasis now want to achieve exactly that. But they need a little more time for it.
We need patience
When will the Early Access phase start now? The team did not provide a specific date. However, it is said to be early 2020.
What does the community say about the delay? This is not the first time that the Early Access phase has had to be postponed. It was originally planned for September 3. Therefore, some now feel it is a “running gag”.
Others understand that a survival game today must stand out from other genre representatives. No one would benefit if Last Oasis were released and hardly anyone was interested because it offers nothing new.
