Two special weapons created some particularly crazy moments in the PvP of Destiny 2. One has already been nerfed, the second one will be nerfed soon. But soon Bungie will also honor the former reign of terror of these two guns. And so a Guardian will also benefit from it.
These are the weapons: Do you remember the laser show shortly after the release of Destiny 2? And have you also been recently shredded by a particular exotic weapon (at least on PC)? Then you should know
- the exotic trace rifle Prometheus Lens
- and the exotic shotgun Lord of Wolves
both quite well. Both weapons were or still are considered broken or OP and stirred up the Crucible of Destiny 2 quite a bit. That is why the Prometheus Lens has already been nerfed by Bungie and Lord of Wolves will receive an adjustment with update 2.5.2 on July 30.
This is how Bungie honors these two weapons: Even though it wasn’t intended by Bungie, both weapons caused some crazy moments and a chaotic time in the Crucible.
That is why the developers have come up with something special to keep the memory of the two guns alive. Both weapons will receive their own emblem in the game, with Lord of Wolves even getting its own triumph.

This is how you get the emblems: The emblem for Lord of Wolves is called “Wolves unleashed”.
To obtain it, you must have participated in a Iron Banner match this year between 7:00 PM on June 18 and 7:00 PM on June 25 or between 7:00 PM on July 23 and 7:00 PM on July 30.
All Guardians who meet this requirement will receive the “Lost History” package in their mailbox after update 2.5.2 on July 30. This will unlock a unique triumph. Once you redeem this, you will receive the corresponding emblem.
To honor the time when skulls were melted by the laser from the Prometheus Lens, Bungie has designed the emblem “Prismatic Inferno”.
All Guardians who participated in a Crucible match between 7:00 PM on December 8 and 7:00 PM on December 12, 2017, will gain access to this emblem.
What was so special about the Prometheus Lens? The Prometheus Lens was introduced with the “Curse of Osiris” DLC and quickly earned the nickname Gjallar-Laser, referencing the powerful Gjallarhorn from Destiny 1. It also brought back memories of the overly powerful Vex Mythoclast (pre-nerf).
Because the exotic trace rifle was absolutely overpowered, killing enemies in just 0.5 seconds. Sometimes it was enough to merely graze a Guardian with the beam to cause them to perish.
As a consequence, almost everyone who had the weapon ran around with it in the Crucible. Then Xur sold the weapon, so that nearly all Guardians could have fun with the Lens before it was nerfed into the ground by Bungie. The Trials weekend following the sale at Xur went down in history as the laser show in Destiny 2.

What was so special about Lord of Wolves? Lord of Wolves is intrinsically a weapon from the first spin-off, but it made its return to Destiny 2 some time ago with Forsaken. This exotic shotgun was a solid weapon from the start but then significantly benefited from a buff during a sandbox update.
Its perk “Release the Wolves” was so powerful that the weapon simply wiped out everything in its path. Even against an active Super, it took a maximum of two shots (salvos) to take down the opposing Guardian.
Especially on PC with mouse and keyboard, the weapon terrorized many players. Many fans raised their voices and demanded an adjustment to the weapon, which took away fun from numerous players in the Crucible. On July 30, it is now time, and Lord of Wolves will also be nerfed.
