Two small Twitch streamers teamed up with a 9-year-old to reach the rank “Legend” in Destiny 2, the highest PvP rank. The hardest part was not carrying the boy, but not cursing.

- The streamer Fallout Plays has been on Twitch since 2014 and has about 30,000 followers
- The streamer Rhythm has 18,000 followers
- The boy CJ is 9 years old and an enthusiastic Destiny player.
The two Twitch streamers primarily play Destiny 2 and treat streaming as a hobby.
How did the boy get selected? Fallout Plays said in a conversation with the US site Polygon, it was a coincidence. CJ was in the right chat at the right time.
They quickly decided not just to play a few games with CJ, but to get him all the way to Legend.
9-Year-Old Proves to Be Polite, Respectful, and a Good Player
Here was the experience: Fallout Plays said the boy was surprisingly good. Often, such young Guardians are inexperienced or a bit uncoordinated, but CJ was great. In some games, he even ended up in 1st place on the leaderboard.
It turned out that CJ was incredibly respectful. He enjoyed talking about Destiny and learning the game. He surprised the streamers by picking unusual weapons. For instance, he chose Leviathan’s Breath, an exotic bow:
Very few people use the bow at all and even fewer in competitive PvP, but he managed it. He felt comfortable switching between sniper, shotgun, and everything.

The streamers took 6 hours to grant the boy the rank “Legend”. The hardest part during that time was not accidentally cursing in front of such a nice boy, says Fallout Plays.
When a bad word slipped out in the heat of battle, he immediately added: “Don’t talk like me.”
This is the reaction: The video is described by some as “wholesome”, heartwarming and encouraging. While many content creators complained that there was nothing to do in Destiny 2, Fallout Plays realized a beautiful idea here.
A user on YouTube chimes in: If they carry a 9-year-old boy, why not also him, a 40-year-old father? That would complete the collection.
Is 9 years too young for Destiny 2? Destiny 2 has a rating in the US of “T for Teen,” officially the game is recommended for “ages 13 and up.”
The ESRB only issues age recommendations. These are not mandatory. Since the boy’s father could be heard in the background of the stream, it can be assumed that the boy played with parental consent.
Carrying in Destiny – the Main Activity for Twitch Streamers
What is “Carrying”? Carrying has a long tradition in Destiny. Earlier, strong PvP players like zwetschkE played the Trials of Osiris on Twitch. They offered viewers the opportunity to play with them to compete in the Trials and reach the Lighthouse. Usually, viewers were selected through a lottery or points system.
For some Twitch streamers, it was the main activity during Destiny times. Their channels were viewed for this content and communities formed.
There were also some who turned it into a business and charged money to get players to the Lighthouse in Destiny 1.
With the absence of Trials in Destiny 2, this tradition has declined. However, there are still some Destiny 2 streamers who help viewers rank up a few levels in PvP, as seen in CJ’s story.
