Although the M4A1 now has a lot of competition, it is still one of the best weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone. With a specific setup, it can even be very strong – OP, as two experts claim. Independently, they have come up with almost the identical build that is particularly effective at medium distances.
Who are the experts? Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff and Vikram Singh “Vikkstar” Barn both earn their money with Call of Duty. Nickmercs is mainly known as a Twitch streamer, Vikkstar, along with other pros, once achieved the fastest victory in Warzone.
After numerous changes in the meta, the Bruen Mk9 was the temporarily strongest weapon, and the question of whether the Grau or the M4A1 is actually the best assault rifle, the two have now found a new build for the M4 that they are extremely satisfied with.
Both are convinced that the setup makes the M4 a feared weapon in Warzone. Nickmercs even calls it “the best M4 class” in the current Season 5 of Warzone in his English video, which we have embedded here for you:
OP Build for the M4 in Warzone – Ideal for Midrange
This is how you build the setup:
- Muzzle: Silencer (Monolithic)
- Barrel: M16 Grenadier
- Optic: VLK 3.0x Scope (Vikkstar), Nickmercs uses the Hollow Sight (Corps Combat)
- Ammunition: 60-Round Magazine
- Laser: Tactical Laser (Vikkstar) or Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip (Nickmercs)
Which optic you want to use is a matter of taste. However, the 3.0x scope is slightly better suited for medium-distance combat, which is why we would recommend that more.
Laser and underbarrel make no significant difference. Both help you aim better, and the Commando Foregrip is one of the best underbarrel attachments for better aim. The laser additionally helps with the aim down sight speed but is also visible to opponents.
However, the most important attachments are the barrel, the suppressor, and the magazine, which define the weapon’s strength. In the video, Vikkstar shows his version of the M4 build. We have embedded it here for you:
How do I use it best? The setup can be ideally used at medium range, just below the range of DMRs and further than most standard assault rifles.
It plays similarly to the strong M4 setup by jackfrags from Season 3, but forgives mistakes better with a larger magazine and can also eliminate several opponents consecutively. In Warzone, you are well prepared for:
- Fights in the open areas where there are at least some hills and rocks for cover
- More expansive areas like Airport, Farmlands, or Quarry
- Urban areas and streets without house fights
As a complement for a loadout, the R9-0 shotgun with Dragon’s Breath ammunition is perfect, as the M4 with this setup is not really strong at shorter distances. With the R9-0, you can also protect yourself against run-and-gun players with strong SMGs.
If you want to build a loadout from this, you have quite a lot of freedom. A heartbeat sensor and C4 are always useful equipment, and you can experiment quite a bit with perks.
