In Pokémon GO, a small event has started in line with the launch of the GO Fest. It brings many Pokémon, some of which can also be Shiny. Here’s an overview.
What kind of event is this? After the GO Fest in Chicago started yesterday, on June 13th, the global spawns have also changed. Now you can find some rare Pokémon more frequently in the wild. Some of them can also be Shiny.

Everything you need to know about the mini-event
How long does the event last? This small event runs only as long as the GO Fest does. The GO Fest ends on Sunday, June 16th. An exact time is not known, but it could be at 6 PM, as that is when the event started.
What spawns in the wild? The spawns have noticeably changed. Everywhere you now find rare Shiny checks and other Pokémon. Here’s the list of possible Shiny:

- Driftlon
- Traunfugil
- Wailmer
- Snubbull
- Enton

Now follows the list of Pokémon that also spawn in the event but cannot be Shiny.

What about the Shiny chance? At the beginning of the event, players spoke about an increased Shiny rate. There is still some uncertainty about it. TheSilphRoad mentions a rate between 1 in 60 and 1 in 150.
The chance could thus be increased. However, some research by players still needs to be completed to confirm this.
What about Shiny Seeper? Before the GO Fest, there were only talks of increased spawns of Seeper. However, these do not appear to be very increased, but merge with the other event spawns.
The Shiny rate here is likely slightly increased, as it was recently with Pottrott. It should lie between 1 in 60 and 1 in 150. Players report this on Reddit.
What about the global challenge? Currently, there is also a global challenge happening around the GO Fest . Here, players from each team must complete field research to unlock special bonuses. The interim results from last night looked like this:

Shiny Abra is here: At the GO Fest, some players have already caught Shiny Abra. This shimmering Pokémon is currently only available in Chicago. However, it is expected to be released worldwide soon.
Shiny Piepi spawns in the wild: Normally, you can obtain Shiny Piepi only by evolving Shiny Pii. However, Piepi can also be caught in the wild in Chicago.
Jirachi is finally here: A new special research is also running at the GO Fest. As a reward, the mysterious Pokémon Jirachi will appear.
Currently, there is no special research for Jirachi worldwide. However, it will surely be introduced soon. Possibly only after the other two GO Fests in the summer.
