The Twitch streamer Fibii shares her longing for real friendships and her experiences with it in a podcast.
Who is Fibii? Fibi Pfeiffer, better known as “Fibii”, has quickly established herself as one of the most prominent streamers on Twitch. She began her rise at just 16 years old, and today, at 18, she is a well-known figure in the scene.
However, behind her success lies an unexpected twist: Originally, the young streamer aspired to a career as a federal police officer. In a podcast with Tim Gabel, she recently revealed why she gave up this dream job and chose a career as a streamer instead.
However, she reveals even more in the podcast: She also talks about how much she longs for true friendships.

What does she talk about in the podcast? In the podcast, Fibi also revealed her deep longing for true friendships. After finishing school, she moved within a month, causing her contact with her former school friends to fade quickly, as they no longer saw each other daily.
Since then, she has made hardly any new connections outside of her streaming activities. She shared that during her stay in Erfurt, she once met a girl through streaming, but she emphasized that this acquaintance did not come close to the depth of her friendships from school.
“So screw them and do your thing,” her mother says
What does she think about streaming friendships? For her, most of her contacts in the streaming field are more like colleagues than true friends. She even doubts that real friendships are still possible outside of her school years and explains that she started streaming, among other reasons, to find new friends.
Despite her commitment to streaming and the numerous contacts it brings, Fibi explains that real friendships simply do not develop from it. She shares her negative experiences and reveals that both her manager and her mother often encouraged her not to be discouraged by superficial relationships and instead to follow her own path. They always tell her: “That’s just how they are. So screw them and do your thing.”
Fibi says she only trusts herself in this scene, as she couldn’t disappoint herself in this way. She resigns herself to the conclusion: “In the end, I’m back to having no friends.”
“Little Fibi and big Fibi, with the same longing”
Tim Gabel agrees with her and shows emotional distress over Fibii’s story. He sees in her the young Fibi with a deep desire for friendship that still exists today. For him, it is obvious that Fibi continues to try to fill this “gap” in her life by seeking friendships, even if it happens subconsciously.
He adds that he has the impression that many content creators just use others and are friends with them only until they become irrelevant. This is also due to the extremely time-intensive job as an influencer, where you meet more and more people but cannot ultimately be fair to everyone.
“This is how we meet more and more people and always have the same amount of time. But more and more people want something from us than we have time to give,” he explains. They both agree that meetings often only serve to create content, leaving little time outside of work for personal connections.
Fibi expressed her desire for a true friendship that also includes her work. She cites as an example Tim Gabel, the podcast host, with his friend Nico or the duo Monte with Elotrix. She explains that she looks at such duos and wishes she could have something similar. The idea of sharing a hobby, passion, and profession with a close friend is what she hopes for.
