ROSE Online is an anime-MMORPG from 2005, which discontinued its services in 2019. In December, it returns with a new publisher.
The developers Gravity discontinued Rose Online in 2019 – However, with the promise that it could return. In September 2021, the new developers and publisher Rednim Games announced that they would take over the MMORPG and rename it to Rose Online.
After several alphas and closed betas, they wrote in their current post that the early access for Rose Online starts on December 13, 2022.
A classic MMORPG from the past
What kind of game is this? Rose Online is an anime MMORPG that visually resembles NosTale and Ragnarok Online. ROSE stands for “Rush On Seven Episodes”, as there are 7 different planets. They lived in peace until they were plagued by the dark god Hebarn. Your task is to restore harmony.
You choose from 4 classes (Soldier, Muse, Hawker, Dealer) and kill monsters to level up. Over time, you learn new skills and find better equipment.
Here is the trailer from 2011:
What other content does it offer?
- 7 planets that you can explore
- Clans that fight each other in PvP
- Monsters are marked by colors depending on their strength. Blue ones are particularly weak, while red and pink ones are very strong
- 2 different attack modes to choose from
The MMORPG is free-to-play but offers shop contents for real money.
Fans indulge in nostalgia
Those who played Rose in the past are particularly excited about the return of the MMORPG. Rose Online joins the list of genre comebacks that were long considered dead. For example, Flyff also made a return and a new version of the classic Ragnarok is announced.
Under a post on reddit, many users express their opinions about the relaunch of Rose Next/Online. We have captured a few voices:
- talonthedeceiver: “I still remember playing it back then and feel a massive nostalgia.”
- deathm00n: “As a teenager, this was the best MMO. Robots fighting against elves? That was so cool.”
- fragment059: “The game was great, but it killed itself because they refused to fix the potion glitch. If you picked up a potion, it reset your cooldown and the stack of it made you immortal.”
- bradstrt: “What year are we in?”
- neunzehnhundert: “Flyff relaunch, Rose online relaunch, Aion classic is coming to EU. I hope Rappelz comes next.”
Are you looking forward to the relaunch of Rose Online? Did you play it back in the day and also feel nostalgia for the game? Which MMORPG from the past would you like to see return?
