A 16-year-old boy has been shot in the USA. He and his father met with two men to sell an Xbox One. However, the deal turned out to be a robbery that had terrible consequences.
On Wednesday, a 16-year-old from Merriville, Indiana, was murdered. He and his father had driven about 15 minutes from Gary, Indiana, to meet with two men. The boy had previously met them online through a sales app.
He wanted to sell the two men his “Xbox One Elite” console for $250 to buy himself a new phone.

As Gamerant reports, father and son arrived in Gary and met with two men. They led them to a house that was unoccupied. However, the father and son were not aware of this.
The boy plugged the Xbox into an outdoor socket so that the sellers could verify that the console was working. That was when the father noticed that one of the two supposed buyers was carrying a firearm.
Father and son then fled, but the son reached for the console while the father shouted at him to just run away.
The son was shot in the back, but managed to make it to his father’s car. According to his mother, the boy still said, “Dad, I’m hit” and died shortly after. The boy was sitting in the passenger seat, still holding his Xbox One in his arms when the police arrived.
The autopsy revealed that the boy died from a gunshot wound, and the death is classified as a homicide. The father was unharmed, according to the police.
The two men are described as being in their early 20s or late teens, wearing basketball shorts, one in a black hoodie and the other in a white one.
The mother says, “They killed my son for nothing.”
One day after the boy was shot, his driver’s license was in the mail.
The police now recommend: When making such deals arranged online, you should meet with buyers in well-lit, visible, and safe places.
