Perfected Outbreak – Pulse Rifle
The pulse rifle “Perfected Outbreak” is very popular in Destiny 2. Its shots can create SIVA nanite swarms through rapid successive hits and precision kills. Additionally, these nanites deal more damage to enemies based on the number of SIVA nanites stuck to them.
Some guardians swear by this weapon, even if they are not fans of pulse rifles. However, there could be another reason for that.
This is the secret advantage of the exotic weapon: The popularity of the exotic weapon is also due to its shooting like a laser. This sets it apart from all pulse rifles in the game.
The reason for this is that “Perfected Outbreak” is actually not a pulse rifle at all. Bungie coded the weapon to have the recoil pattern of an auto rifle. This makes it so stable.
Misdeeds – Hand Cannon
This weapon has a shadow – but only an explosive one. It fires corrupted bullets that bury themselves in fighters. If enough bullets are stacked, they explode and stun surviving fighters. It is also strong against unstoppable champions.
Against the accursed, this weapon is extremely powerful. But it also has a hidden synergy with the grenade launcher “Drought Collector.”
This is the secret advantage of the exotic weapon: If you combine “Misdeeds” in a team with the exotic grenade launcher “Drought Collector,” you can gain 25% extra bonus damage with the hand cannon.
The weapon also has a visual detail that hardly anyone notices. When your guardian holds this weapon in hand, their hands shake. A cool detail that perfectly sells the power fantasy of this weapon that “nothing takes a guardian down faster than another guardian” (via light.gg).
Tale of a Dead Man – Scout Rifle
In the upcoming Season 22, Bungie will bring a mission rotator for exotic missions into the game. The beginning will be the exotic missions from Season 13 “Foreboding”, from Season 16 “Vox Obscura” and from Season 19 “Operation: Seraph’s Shield”. They will rotate weekly, offering the option for premier loot.
Xur will no longer sell the exotic scout rifle “Tale of a Dead Man”. Instead, the weapon will return to the loot pool through the return of its exotic mission. It will also be transformed into a deep sight weapon, making it craftable. Reason enough to let you know what its secret property is.

This is the secret advantage of the exotic weapon: What every player learns from the weapon description of “Tale of a Dead Man” is that chained precision hits grant bonus target acquisition and range. What is not mentioned there is that the weapon deals bonus damage in PvE.
- Each stack of “Cranial Spike” increases damage in PvE and allows you to reload much faster.
Thorn – Hand Cannon
The “Thorn” has “Marks of Damnation.” Its bullets pierce targets, dealing damage over time. Kills with this weapon leave collectible remnants of your fallen enemies. But did you know that its poison also pierces other things?
This is the secret advantage of the exotic weapon: Those who carry the “Thorn” never have to get into a Taken Blight bubble and risk taking damage there. Or wait for a Hive Knight to drop their shield. It is a weapon of grief and can therefore pierce this blight from a distance and eliminate it.
Malicious Touch – Scout Rifle
The “Malicious Touch”, the raid exotic from “King’s Fall” is an amazing weapon of grief.
- The last bullet in the magazine deals bonus damage. It drains life from the weapon wielder, which then regenerates.
- Quickly defeating three targets also restores health.
- Precision hits drain life from fighters and charge a projectile of darkness. This blight projectile can then be used to engulf fighters in darkness and temporarily blind them.
But besides these options, “Malicious Touch” also has a host of hidden properties.
These are the secret advantages of the exotic weapon:
- When using the perk “Malicious Touch”, this blight also applies a unique debuff to all enemies it comes into contact with.
- This debuff grants a 50% damage bonus from all weapons of grief, such as “Thorn” and “Osteo Striga” or “Bad Karma”.
- It is similarly unmentioned that “Malicious Touch” deals an additional bonus damage of 100% when the blight is triggered with the last shot in the magazine.
On the last page, we come to an exotic trace rifle that stands out significantly from its peers to deal maximum damage.
