6. Make friendships with other trainers
Why do you need friends in Pokémon GO? A central feature in Pokémon GO is making friendships. These can not only help you locally when playing raids, but it is also necessary for you to have friends from other regions to secure the different forms of Vivillon.
Additionally, you can send each other gifts from which you can obtain items and stardust, battle each other, or trade monsters. Through the increasing friendship level, you will also be rewarded with EP. You can even become lucky friends and make a lucky trade.
How to find friends? You can find friends in your local community through groups on Facebook, Discord, and WhatsApp, but also through Niantic’s Campfire app. Alternatively, it is also advisable to look for activated lure modules or go to raids that can only be played on-site. With a bit of luck, you might meet other players here.
In the following article, we will show you how to find friends from different regions:
7. Spin PokéStops and open gifts
Why is spinning useful? On the map, you can not only find wild monsters but also PokéStops and gyms. These mark interesting spots in your vicinity that you can interact with. When you are near such a PokéStop or gym, you can spin the respective photo disc.
You should definitely do this, as you will receive items such as balls, berries, revives, or potions, as well as stardust. These are important items to catch monsters or revive them after a battle. You will ultimately need stardust to level up your monsters or when trading Pokémon with friends.
Why are gifts worthwhile? You can also receive items from gifts from your friends. Currently, you can open 30 of them per day, and you should take advantage of this. Don’t forget to save the postcards to get Vivillon. Additionally, you increase your friendship level this way.
8. Learn to throw properly
Why is this important? What may seem relatively easy at first is actually more difficult than it appears: throwing. At first, you will probably throw at the monster indiscriminately. However, the right throw can be important, especially with legendary monsters after a raid. The better the throw, the easier the Pokémon will stay in the ball. It can also be important for completing various tasks.
How to throw? Pay attention to the catch circle when aiming. The smaller it gets, the harder it is to hit the monster. But this way, fabulous throws are also possible. Additionally, don’t throw the ball straight at the Pokémon, but in a gentle arc as a curveball.
You do this by moving the ball in circles with your finger before throwing it and then lightly aiming at the monster from the side. It’s best to practice this with Pokémon that generally have a large catch circle, like Wailmer.
9. Invest in the right monsters
Which monsters should you invest in? Once you have accumulated enough stardust and want to level up or evolve your first monsters, think carefully about which ones they should be. Your stardust is valuable and should not be wasted.
Depending on what you plan to do with the Pokémon, you should focus on strong Pokémon for PvE or PvP battles. For raids, we recommend monsters like Swinub, Larvitar, Gastly, Machop, or also Eevee.
These have strong evolutions that are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO and can be regularly found in the wild or at events. For the GO Battle League, the evolutions of Mudkip, Meditite, or Dratini can be useful instead.
What should you consider? Before you boost any of these specimens, you should properly evaluate them and determine whether it is worth it. While your monsters must have a high IV for raids, this plays a lesser role in the GO Battle League. Here, you should mainly pay attention to the defense and stamina values. Depending on the league, certain CP values may not be exceeded.

10. Use daily bonuses
What kind of bonus is this? Every day, you have the opportunity to secure a bonus when you catch a Pokémon and spin a PokéStop once. The bonus increases from day to day until you are especially rewarded after 7 consecutive days.
This way, you will receive more items at the PokéStop, including special evolution items, and additional experience points (EP) for your first catch of the day.
Additionally, it is also worthwhile to claim a field research daily that you find in your field view. This will grant you a research breakthrough with an additional Pokémon encounter after 7 days.
