Every month there is a Community Day in Pokémon GO, but which Pokémon will appear is not yet known. We present to you 14 monsters that would fit well.
What kind of list is this? The Pokémon for the Community Days in 2020 are not yet known. We are only presenting possible candidates here because they fit well into the profile of the other Pokémon from the Community Day.
None of the monsters necessarily has to actually get a Community Day in the end.
Remember these 14 Pokémon for the Community Day
What are the requirements for a Community Day? The pattern of the Community Day is always quite similar and some characteristics can be observed:
- The shiny version of the Pokémon is not yet in the game for the Community Day (here Pikachu was the exception)
- As a rule, the Pokémon has two evolutions (here Evoli was the exception)
- Either the Pokémon was a starter or a rather rare Pokémon (here Evoli was the exception)
Plinfa
What are the arguments in favor? A lot. Chelast and recently Panflam both already had their Community Day. Plinfa is the last remaining starter from the 4th generation without a Community Day. It is quite certain that this event will still come.
What are the arguments against? Actually nothing at all. Every starter has received their Community Day so far.
How does the shiny look? Shiny Plinfa is simply a bit brighter. This is how the entire Plinfa family looks.
Serpifeu, Floink und Ottaro
What are the arguments in favor? Here one can be quite sure. Starters have always received a Community Day so far, and the 5th generation could continue this trend.
What are the arguments against? So far a starter Pokémon always alternated with another monster, meaning every 2 months. According to this theory, Serpifeu should already have a Community Day in March 2020. This might be a bit too early for Niantic.
How do the shinies look? Shiny Serpifeu strongly resembles Chelast and is a bit darker. Ottaro is also darker and is dark blue as a shiny. Floink, on the other hand, is a bit brighter and instead of orange, it is yellow as shiny.
Abra
What are the arguments in favor? Abra is one of the few Pokémon from the 1st generation that is not yet shiny in the game and still has 2 evolutions. Additionally, Simsala is really good and could become even better with a special attack on Community Day.
It is quite conceivable that Niantic will bring a Pokémon from an older generation back to the Community Day. This could help alleviate the pressure for always new Pokémon.
What are the arguments against? Abra has been available since the launch of the game. Niantic could have used various other Community Days to introduce Abra as shiny into the game.
How does the shiny look? Here you have to look closely. Shiny Abra is only a bit lighter than the normal version. A real difference can only be seen with shiny Simsala, as it has pink elements.
Rihorn
What are the arguments in favor? Rihorn is similar to Quiekel. It has a 3rd evolution since the 4th generation, which can only be obtained through the Sinnoh stone. Niantic could host a similar Community Day like the one with Quiekel.
It also helps that Rihornior is quite strong, and if it could learn the ground attack Earth Powers, it would rank among the top attackers.
What are the arguments against? Just like with Abra, the question arises: Why is there a Community Day so late? Niantic could have taken their chance earlier and hosted a Community Day here.
How does the shiny look? The shiny variant can be easily recognized at all stages. Shiny Rihorn is brown instead of gray. Rihornior even has yellow elements.
Chaneira und Relaxo
What are the arguments in favor? Chaneira and Relaxo are both quite rare Pokémon and are not yet shiny in the game. Chaneira has 3 evolutionary stages with the baby Wonneira and Heiteira as well.
An exclusive attack could make both Pokémon even stronger as defenders.
What are the arguments against? The likelihood of such a Community Day is low. After all, both monsters have a baby Pokémon, and these would also need to be introduced as shiny.
Furthermore, the question arises about the timing. The Community Days for these two Pokémon could have happened much earlier.
How do the shinies look? Both shinies are easy to recognize. Releaxo is considerably darker, and Chaneira is greenish.
Koknodon
What are the arguments in favor? Koknodon is, along with Kaumalat, the highlight of the 4th generation. The evolution Rameidon is the best rock attacker, and Koknodon is quite rare in the wild.
What are the arguments against? Koknodon has only one evolution. Here, Niantic would have to deviate from their line. Additionally, it is difficult to teach Rameidon another suitable attack. As it is now, it is already ideal.
How does the shiny look? Instead of the blue features on the body, shiny Koknodon has red elements. The difference is clearly recognizable.
Schilterus
What are the arguments in favor? Schilterus’ evolution Bollterus is a real weapon, especially in PvP. A Community Day like this would fit with the introduction of the PvP league next year. There, one could really achieve something with Bollterus.
What are the arguments against? Regardless of PvP, Schilterus is quite useless. Moreover, there is only one evolution. Therefore, Schilterus is not necessarily a prime example for a good Community Day.
What does the shiny look like? The shield of the Pokémon is blue in the shiny variant instead of gray. So you can see a clear difference.
Kaumalat
What are the arguments in favor? Quite a lot. Kaumalat is the best example of a Community Day in the 4th generation. It is rare, quite strong, and has 3 evolutionary stages. Every other Pokémon from previous generations that has these characteristics has also received a Community Day.
Additionally, Knakrack could become a real weapon with the right ground or dragon type attack.
What are the arguments against? Kaumalat is extremely rare, and many may not even have that Dex entry yet. Niantic could significantly devalue Kaumalat by giving it a Community Day.
How does the shiny look? Kaumalat and Knarksel have a much stronger color as shiny. Knakrack, on the other hand, is somewhat paler and grayer.
Lichtel
What are the arguments in favor? From the 5th generation, Lichtel stands out as a strong candidate in the current roster. It has two evolutions, and the final evolution Skelabra is exceptionally useful as a fire and ghost attacker.
What are the arguments against? Actually very little, but Lichtel belongs to the 5th generation, and there has not yet been a Community Day from that generation. One should first wait and see if Niantic will change something about the event series with this generation.
How does the shiny look? The flame makes the difference here. With each evolution, the flame in the shiny version has a different color.
Kapuno
What are the arguments in favor? Along with Lichtel, Kapuno is a strong candidate from the 5th generation. It also has two evolutions, and Trikephalo is very important in the meta of Pokémon GO.
With the right attack, it could even become better and compete with Darkrai.
What are the arguments against? Here, one can list the same arguments as for Lichtel. One must await the first Community Days of the 5th generation. However, based on the existing parameters, there is little against a Community Day.
How does the shiny look? Shiny Kapuno is green instead of blue. You can see the differences at first glance.
Rotomurf
What are the arguments in favor? Rotomurf is currently one of the most useful Pokémon of the 5th generation. Its evolution Stalobor is among the best ground attackers in the game.
What are the arguments against? Initially, the same concerns as with Lichtel and Kapuno apply. Additionally, Rotomurf only has one evolution.
How does the shiny look? Rotomurf has purple stripes on its chest as shiny. Stalobor, on the other hand, is almost completely red in its shiny version.
These Pokémon are missing here: The 5th generation is still full of other possible Pokémon. However, these have not yet appeared in Pokémon GO, so we do not take them into account here.
