The developers of the upcoming online hack ‘n slash Lost Ark showcased their game in a 12-hour live stream for the closed beta.
Lost Ark is among the online games that excite both MMO fans and action RPG players. In principle, the game is reminiscent of Diablo, but it also features many MMO elements. Some may not be able to imagine much by it, but the developers presented their game in a 12-hour live stream that aimed to answer some questions – if you can speak Korean.
Wondering now? Closed beta – that took place in August in South Korea.

Fighting, Trading, Gathering Resources
Even though the developers speak Korean during the video and the on-screen texts are also in that language, one still gets a good impression of the game. The heroine wanders through the vast landscape, gathers resources, fights in fast-paced, action-packed battles against hordes of monsters, and also trades in a city. The dungeons are also interesting, where the fights seem even more intense due to the narrow spaces and corridors. The many special attacks with their effects also make a good impression. Even PvP is shown.
MMO or not?
In principle, Lost Ark does indeed look like Diablo. The controls seem to be very similar, the UI, the trading window… What doesn’t quite come across in the video is how interaction with other players works. Almost the entire time, the heroine is alone in the game world, although one often hears that Lost Ark is more of a MMORPG, where many other players also play a role. Perhaps this was simply not possible in the current version or was turned off for the stream. At least some questions about this interesting online game remain unanswered.
