The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone are currently working on fixing numerous bugs. 11 of them already have a fix that will be coming soon.
What kind of bugs are there? The bugs are partly just cosmetic issues, but some of them are more serious bugs that can cause features to malfunction or even result in losing rounds.
In the developers’ official Trello, eleven such bugs are listed for which a fix already exists and is yet to be implemented. Most of them are for the Multiplayer of Modern Warfare:
- the Killstreak “Precision Airstrike” cannot be deployed, even though it is available
- Screen tearing (graphics issues) on new multiplayer maps
- Graphics issues with the eyes of Captain Price, the legendary new operator from Season 4
- invisible collision on Promenade
- exploit in one of the kiosks on Piccadilly
- hitboxes of male operators are not functioning correctly when the “headshots only” feature is enabled in private matches
- the crosshair for the standard sight of the new Rytec AMR cannot be adjusted
- the RPK barrel is broken for some weapons
- officer challenges currently called “Elder challenges”
For the Battle Royale Warzone, there are also two bug fixes. One of them concerns helicopters, which have caused problems several times:
- player physics can be influenced by helicopters while parachuting
- an unspecified glitch with ammunition
In Trello, the developers also mention a fix for an exploit that allowed players to carry their weapons from preparation into Warzone. However, this bug has already been fixed with an earlier update.
When will the bugs be fixed? The fixes are marked with “fixed in a future update”. It is possible that they will therefore disappear with the release of Season 5 on August 5, but likely at least in a patch shortly thereafter.
More changes in Season 5
Together with the bug fixes, we expect important changes to the Warzone map with Season 5, which have been hinted at by a teaser. This would also advance the story of the Battle Royale.
Additionally, a new Battle Pass will be released, and there will be three new weapons that you can earn:
- APC 9: a submachine gun
- Remington 700: a sniper rifle
- CheyTac M200 Intervention: a “quick-scope” sniper
