Now that the Trials in Destiny 2 have been overhauled, the chances of achieving a flawless victory have also increased. We have tips and tricks for you to steadily improve your performance in high-end PVP, which will also help solo players.
Here’s what the Trials are about: In the Trials of Osiris , you will find a hardcore PvP mode that has finally received an overhaul with Season 15. The Trials are better known by their English name “Trials of Osiris” or simply Trials.
We want to support you on your Trials outing and have prepared some tactics and tips – there is something for solo players as well.
How to Succeed in the Trials of Osiris
We present to you “mindsets” that will keep a cool head in the Trials and prepare you for any situation. The beautiful thing about our tips: You can start working on all of these aspects right now, and you have complete control over them.
1. Tip: Check Your Stats and Selected Mods
Important Preparations: With good balanced stats, such as maximum intellect and mobility for the Hunter, you can benefit from increased sprint speed and faster super charge. Especially in the Trials, it’s all or nothing. Make sure your stats are maximized and your armor is shaped into a masterpiece.
Be sure to use mods: Faster handling of your shotgun or reduced flinch when sniping will lead you to victory. For this, you can equip suitable mods in your armor that bring these advantages. This way, you aim slightly faster than your enemy.
Many players overlook mods and wonder why they cannot hit their shots with their hand cannon, for instance. There are mods like Targeting Adjuster for hand cannons or improved targeting on the helmet. Use these mods and you will notice they make a difference.
2. Tip: Find a Weapon Balance for Your Team
Which weapons should be present in the team? As a team, you should be able to effectively cover every distance.
- Cover close combat – for example with shotguns or SMGs
- Sniper rifles, scouts, and even bows are great for supporting the team from a safe distance
- For medium distances, fusion rifles or your hand cannons are strong
Your team should be well-equipped from long distances to close combat. You can probably imagine that a team full of shotguns cannot survive on a map like Bannerfall.
It’s important to communicate when you’re in a team. This will help you and automatically ensure coordination within the team.
5. Tip: Lone Wolves Are a Burden
Can I no longer rush in alone? Yes, you can, but you must also be aware that your enemies will exploit any conceivable situation. A lone guardian in the pasture will be mauled by the pack. In contrast, your team will gladly take the easy pick.
If you are confident and experienced in such situations, you can separate from your team and assess the situation. This way, you can inform your teammates of important information regarding enemy positions.
However, such “heroes” are not welcome in PVP, as you will likely not survive a 1vs3 encounter.
6. Tip: What to Do Against Enemies Playing for Time?
This is how you solve the camper problem: Keep a cool head and do not rush out of your cover due to impatience. If the enemies are playing with snipers in their spawn, let them. Lean back and try to find a chance to separate the enemy team.
If that doesn’t help and you have a Titan on your team, he should select the Bubble. This way, you can place a Bubble on the zone to be captured in such camper situations, and your enemies won’t be able to do anything about it.
7. Tip: Don’t Waste Your Super, but Use It Early Enough
What does this mean? There will be situations where you will be the only one left. Enemies will chase you, and your only option may seem to activate your Super – but that is counterproductive.
Here are the reasons:
- The likelihood of hitting all enemies with your Super is low.
- You’re not generating Orbs of Light for your fallen guardians, so the extra energy goes to waste.
- Enemies will try to run away and wait until your Super expires.
Instead, use this when the round is over and you are back with your mates, then everyone will benefit.
But don’t save your Super for too long. If you have your Super charged before your enemies, take advantage of it (Orbs / first kill). And under no circumstances take it into orbit – activate it solo instead.
3 Tips for Solo Players in the Trials
Since Destiny 2 now also gives solo or duo players the opportunity to compete against other guardians in the Trials, MeinMMO has also thought about this.
8. Tip: Watch Your Teammates
As a solo player, you should also pay attention to your teammates. Observe your mates and adapt to them.
- If someone wants to push, back them up.
- If your teammate flees and you notice it, intercept the enemy or assist in the escape.
There are many possibilities open to you here; show that you are still a good team player and support each other.
9. Tip: Take the Lead if There Is Uncertainty
There can be rounds in which all team members just look at each other in silence and wonder – Where do we go?
In such situations, you should take the lead and set a route. Observe your teammates’ reactions. If they follow, you can outplay the enemy together, but if not, you should step back and follow your teammates, providing them support.
10. Tip: Form a Squad with Mates from Good Rounds
In solo round Trials, you may also encounter new mates with whom you rock further rounds. In such cases, it is advisable to form a task force right away and climb to the top as a team.
This way, you can surely achieve a flawless ticket and perhaps find a permanent Trials team as well.

Therefore: Ensure a balanced weapon mix that allows you to counter every distance in your team. This way, you create space in fights and the opponents will fear you.
3. Tip: Inspect Your Enemies During Approach
Every bit of information helps: By inspecting enemies, you can identify possible weaknesses and enjoy a certain advantage. The enemies’ equipment reveals their possible tactics.
A team with snipers will not engage you in close combat but will maintain their distance. Enemies with shotguns will try to lure you into close combat. So always be on your guard and pay attention to the enemies’ loadouts.
If you’re clever, you can also track enemies with apps or websites like Trialsreport.com and view their statistics to directly know what you’re up against.
4. Tip: Communication is the Key to Success
What goes wrong? Many LFG teams team up with their positive KDs and want to sweep the Trials. However, such teams consist of guardians who do not communicate. That cannot work.
Even if you just say such little things, your chances increase enormously:
- Hunter at the power ammo
- Titan has an empty shotgun
- Warlock killed on the left stairs
- You don’t even have to mention the official map areas directly under your radar – of course, that is beneficial
- Cheer each other on or acknowledge a good play – that increases motivation
In the Trials, you need to be aware of where the enemy is or what the enemy is doing. A team of silent guardians is counterproductive and ensures a certain loss of the round and also of honor.
It’s important to communicate when you’re in a team. This will help you and automatically ensure coordination within the team.
