Level your crafts
The crafting system of Final Fantasy XIV shines with its complexity and depth. Behind each gathering and crafting guild stands its own class, with special commands and equipment pieces that are just waiting to be leveled to the maximum level.
The effort to bring one of the professions to level 90 is, however, not without its challenges. You can master a large part of the distance through the reconstruction of Ishgard. Although it is already complete, your crafted collectibles for the reconstruction still bring a lot of routine.
As soon as you have brought any job to level 60, you can unlock access to the sky city at the foundations in Ishgard. You need a crafter at level 20 to be able to create the first collectibles for the reconstruction.
After level 70, producing the deliveries for the reconstruction of Ishgard becomes quite expensive. We recommend instead to travel to Crystarium. There, you can take the free letters and delivery orders at the manufactory on the canopy, which reward you with plenty of routine and for which you need far less good equipment than for the reconstruction of Ishgard.
Also, the repeatable tasks of the Beast tribes are worthwhile. From level 80 onwards, you should specifically produce collectibles that you can unlock from Crafter Level 50 through the Ishgard quest “With Collector’s Value Being in Demand.”
Do a spring cleaning
A new expansion always brings a number of new gear pieces, materials, consumables, rewards, and other stuff. Use the time until the launch to tidy up your inventory, arsenal, your chocobo’s saddlebags, and all other storage spaces.
You might even find the occasional item that you can sell for Gil on the market. Don’t forget to clean up your projection plates either. If you rarely or never use some of them, make space for the new Dawntrail outfits.
This new gameplay of the Pictomancer class looks exciting:
Farm high-level FATEs
With Shadowbringers, a new currency for completing FATEs has been introduced, which you can also earn in the Endwalker FATEs: The two-toned gemstones can be exchanged with special FATE merchants for special rewards such as materials, decorations, buff food, and much more.
We expect that there will be FATE merchants again with Dawntrail who are eager for your colorful baubles. With some of the new FATE rewards, you could make a – watch out, pun – Gil-de nose in the early days of the expansion.
Join a guild
Discovering the secrets of a new expansion is much more fun when you share the experience with like-minded people. Additionally, you can benefit from your comrades’ experiences in a guild and find it easier to connect with groups.
The Free Companies of FFXIV also bring another advantage: Through them, you gain access to combat routine bonuses – five, ten, or even 15 percent more experience points for 24 hours are possible.
Test your PC with the benchmark software
With the upcoming expansion of Final Fantasy XIV, the fantasy world of Eorzea will receive a comprehensive graphics update. You can expect improved character models, shadows, lighting, weather effects, object density, and much more. It’s clear that this will also affect the system requirements your PC needs to meet.
With the benchmark software of Dawntrail, you’ll get an initial look at the modernized Eorzea and other new features of the expansion. And of course, you can find out whether your computer’s power is sufficient.
By the way, the benchmark software caused quite a bit of trouble:
Bonus Tip: Practice Patience
Even now, just under two months before the launch of Dawntrail (during the great content drought before the new expansion starts), there are smaller queues to log in to your server during prime time. What will happen when the big player surge begins in early July?
The good news: Square Enix is preparing and has already announced that there will be a new European data center named Shadow. It will host the three worlds Innocence, Pixie, and Titania.
Still, you should expect long queue times and troublesome server issues on the old data centers around the launch of Dawntrail. Why not browse through some of our specials while you wait, for example: 12 MMORPGs that paved the way for WoW and are still playable.
