Pokémon GO is a lot of fun. However, 10 small things could make the game even better – we show you which ones.
Niantic keeps adding major updates and especially many more Pokémon. However, there are also several small things that would improve Pokémon GO.
These are mainly about features in the gameplay mechanics and not about new content. For example, proper notifications or better settings could enhance the gaming experience.
These 10 things would improve Pokémon GO
Skip timer in raids: Especially in small raids, it is incredibly annoying that you have to wait 2 minutes before you can finally fight. Many raids can be completed alone. So it makes no sense for other players to join.
If there was a button to skip the waiting time, you would save many minutes. Everyone could hit start, and the raid would begin.
It’s not unreasonable, as another Niantic game, Wizards Unite, has a similar feature.
Remembering the ball: If you catch a Pokémon with a Ultra Ball and then click the next creature, the Pokéball is automatically selected again.
This is especially annoying on Community Days, as you often use the Ultra Ball and have to select it again every time.
If you could preset, for example in the settings, which ball you want to have selected at the start, you could save a lot of time.
Execute multiple power-ups at once: If you want to level up a Pokémon, it currently takes quite a long time. You have to perform each power-up individually, and depending on the level of the creature, this can take several minutes.
It would be desirable to execute multiple power-ups at once. You could be told how much dust and candies leveling up to the maximum would cost, and the Pokémon would jump to its max level within seconds.
Sending event Pokémon: The Halloween Event 2019 provided a good example. At last, you can send event Pokémon, like Pikachu in costume, without the annoying confirmation.
For the numerous Pikachu with hats, you still have to confirm that you really want to send the event Pokémon. You cannot send them with other creatures. This makes no sense, as these Pokémon are particularly common in events, and you have many specimens to send. You will only be unnecessarily delayed.
A notification for quest stack: If you do not catch a Pokémon from a quest immediately, it goes into the quest stack. You can store up to 100 Pokémon there. While this is very useful, unfortunately, you cannot see when this stack is full. If you exceed 100, Pokémon just disappear from the stack.
A small notification would help here. You could then see exactly how many creatures you have in your stack and whether you should catch them again. This way, Pokémon do not unnecessarily disappear if the stack is full.
Collecting quests with a full Pokémon box: If you do not have space in your Pokémon box, you can still collect quest rewards. This is annoying, as you cannot see the reward; it disappears directly into the quest stack.
Especially frustrating is this with a potential shiny. You cannot see if it is shiny and have to catch your whole stack first to see the reward.
A simple message that the Pokémon box is full and you cannot collect the quest would help here. This way, the above-mentioned mishaps would not happen.
A display of XP: If you have reached level 40, you are at the maximum. However, you can still earn more XP. However, you can only see this yourself under your medals.
A display that at least reveals to friends how much XP you have could make the otherwise pointless gathering of XP interesting again. You could directly compare yourself with friends and follow their progress.
Better sorting amongst friends: Another feature missing in the Friends feature is the display of which player can still receive a gift.
Until now, you have to click on each player individually to see if they still have a gift. If this filter existed, you could sort faster and get rid of gifts.
Display of players who are online: If you like PvP, you can challenge friends over distance, but you cannot see if the friend is currently online. So you can send an invite but might not get a response because the friend is not playing right now.
If it were indicated next to each friend whether they are currently online, it would make the situation easier. You could send invitations more easily and be sure that the person sees them.
Reasonable suggestions for battle team: Especially beginners do not always know which Pokémon are really effective against the raid boss. They often go in with the suggested team, which usually does not select good Pokémon.
If Niantic at least suggested somewhat decent Pokémon here, one could fight more effectively and beginners would not always have to put together a battle team right away.
