Wednesday is a US series based on the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Tim Burton directed the first four episodes and is the executive producer of the series.
The main character Wednesday Addams is sent to Nevermore Academy to learn to cope with her powers. However, things do not go as planned, and Wednesday has to solve a murder and fight against a dark threat.
Wednesday quickly became an absolute Netflix hit after release. In particular, actress Jenna Ortega thrilled many viewers in her role as the slightly quirky and sarcastic Wednesday.
The series also impressed MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski, who shared her personal Netflix recommendations in a special at the end of 2022.
5. The Watcher
The Watcher is a US mystery miniseries from 2022, following the true story of a couple who is harassed by letters after moving into their dream home in New Jersey. Signed by a stalker named “The Watcher”.

6. The Haunting of Hill House
The Haunting of Hill House is a US horror series by Mike Flanagan that was released on Netflix in October 2018. The sequel The Haunting of Bly Manor came out two years later, in October 2020.
After The Haunting of Bly Manor, more series by Mike Flanagan followed: Midnight Mass (2021) and Midnight Club (2022). While Midnight Mass is also considered a spooky horror series, Midnight Club is aimed more at a younger audience and is more “like the light version of a Flanagan series,” say our colleagues from Moviepilot.
In The Haunting of Hill House, the five Crain siblings move into a dark property called “Hill House” with their parents. Their plan is to renovate the house and then sell it again. However, mysterious events occur that culminate in a tragic moment that will have a lasting impact on the family.
