Are you still looking for series to watch during Halloween? Then we have just the right thing for you. We show you 10 series on Netflix that can scare you more or less.
How was the list created?
- All series are available on Netflix. However, keep in mind that the program may change over time. So quickly add the titles to your watchlist and check them out.
- The order of the series is random and has no significance.
- They are not exclusively horror series, but also series that simply create a spooky atmosphere.
- Whether you really get scared or not depends on many different factors – this is thus our assessment. To find out if a series is something for you, or if it is too scary, a trailer can be a good hint.

1. The Fall of the House of Usher
The Fall of the House of Usher is a miniseries based on the short story The Fall of the House of Usher by American author Edgar Allan Poe. It was just released on October 12, 2023, has eight episodes and is already doing quite well:
The horror series is about siblings Roderick Usher and Madeline Usher, who help a pharmaceutical company succeed through corrupt opioid trade.
The director of The Fall of the House of Usher is Mike Flanagan, whom you may know from the series The Haunting of Hill House or the films Oculus and Still.
2. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a US series by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale). Many assume that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is an adaptation of the 90s sitcom Sabrina – The Teenage Witch. However, that is not true, as it is based on the comic book series of the same name published in 2014.
It is a coming-of-age story with a touch of horror, told by the teenager Sabrina Spellman. Sabrina tries to find her way in her predestined life as a witch – with the help of her two aunts, the friendly Hilda, the strict Zelda, and her mischievous cousin Ambrose. Although the series sometimes seems a bit cheesy, the themes and events are quite intense and spooky.
By the way, with the fourth season, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has reached its end. The finale is said to be “devastating,” say our colleagues from Moviepilot.
3. Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities
Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is a US-Mexican anthology series from 2022, created by Guillermo del Toro for the streaming service Netflix. The spooky stories deal with bizarre nightmare scenarios in eight episodes that are not related to each other.
The horror series is based on a selection of short stories by authors such as Henry Kuttner, Michael Shea, and H. P. Lovecraft, as well as by Guillermo del Toro himself.
In the opening credits of each episode, Guillermo del Toro speaks directly to the audience, giving introductory words to the episode and presenting a prop from the titular cabinet of curiosities.
