Argument 9: Quality time online or offline – you have the choice
D&D is a fixed appointment where you intentionally spend time together. Whether comfortably at the table or casually in voice chat, it’s about exchange and shared experiences. Especially in stressful times, it’s a nice balance. You don’t just meet; you experience something together and spend time with loved ones.
There are now a whole bunch of tools that make playing online more enjoyable and visual, so even long distances are no longer an issue when forming groups.
Argument 10: Memories that last longer than any game
Last but not least, the ultimate argument for all friend groups: D&D creates memories for a lifetime that cannot really be reproduced. Like an improv theater, epic die rolls, silly decisions, or brilliant ideas become insider jokes.
These moments cannot be saved or recreated; they belong only to your group. That’s why they remain so special. D&D creates stories that you’ll always be happy to tell again and look back on with laughter or nostalgia.
Once you’ve convinced your friends, it’s time to get down to business. Create characters, find a starting point together, and experience great stories. However, long-term campaigns often encounter problems. MeinMMO editor Alexander Mehrwald has been playing the same campaign for years, and the reasons for its success are numerous: I have been playing the same Dungeons & Dragons campaign for years – that’s our secret to success
