Project Neptune aka World of Warcraft Mobile

Following the announcement of Diablo Immortal, Blizzard executives revealed their plan to develop mobile games for all their beloved universes (i.e., Diablo, Warcraft, and StarCraft) one by one. Reports from the following years even made it clear that several projects were in development for the Warcraft universe.
One of the projects, Warcraft Rumble, actually launched in November 2023. In this game, you must position your miniature units on the battlefield to overwhelm enemy troops and defensive structures and ultimately defeat the boss.

The other two projects were reportedly canceled in 2022. One of the games was apparently some kind of Warcraft Go with strong Pokémon-Go vibes. The other title was known as Project Neptune and was supposed to be a type of World of Warcraft for mobile devices.
However, we’re not talking about a mobile supplement for the existing WoW that allows you to complete a few quests, trade, or farm resources while on the go. Instead, it was said to be an independent game set in a different time.
According to industry insider Jason Schreier, Blizzard and NetEase (which had already worked together on Diablo Immortal) spent about three years on the project. However, due to disagreements on certain points, the Chinese company reportedly withdrew its team of over 100 developers from development.
