Ellie and Abby in Combat

The passages where Ellie and Abby fight each other, whether in the theater or ultimately in the sea, were particularly intense for me. Especially when Abby starts beating Ellie with her clearly stronger build.

The game was able to exploit the empathy for the characters because by this point, you were already in both shoes. In Ellie’s case, in many cases for years.

They do not fight fairly, but desperately, aiming to kill each other.

For me, it is extremely important that the series prioritizes this in its execution. I want to feel while watching as I did back then when I had to do it myself for the first time. And if it does not feel wrong that the two girls are beating each other, the production team has missed the mark. I want to feel horrible while watching. I would actually appreciate that.

Hanging and Dissecting Seraphite Victims

The Seraphites have the wonderful tradition of displaying their victims as a warning to the WLF – and they prefer to do so hanging, with their bodies dissected.

The first time you see this warning is in an office building and in a park at night.

Abby narrowly escapes this fate after being rescued by the Seraphite siblings Lev and Yara. The scene was already shown in the teaser for the game and was really well done due to the tension, lighting, and uncertainty.

Hopefully, the series can capture this atmosphere. HBO should be ready to not hide the brutality of the Seraphites.
