3. The Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd)
First appearance of the character: Fantastic Four Nr. 48 (March 1966)
The Silver Surfer is one of the most tragic figures in the Marvel Universe. He is essentially a good-hearted man, but as Galactus’s Herald, he travels from planet to planet to announce their doom. Sometimes, however, he stands against villains and saves the universe.
A variant of the Silver Surfer, The Fallen One, confronts the well-known Marvel villain in Thanos Nr. 16 (February 2018). Thanos, however, has prepared and sought help from his younger self from the past.
The Fallen One has also prepared himself. He trained for years to be worthy of carrying and wielding Mjölnir. Yet that did not help him win against the two villains (Source: Variant Comics on YouTube).
