The developers of Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Switch) have finally released the first teaser about Season 6. But the image raises more questions than it answers.
What can be seen in the teaser? Finally, the teaser for the Theme for Season 6 is here. However, those who expected a dark alternative dimension or aliens may find themselves initially bewildered.
For the teaser image shows a guy with a llama mask and DJ headset. The headline reads: “Every great party needs a DJ”. In the background, the supposedly dead cube is visible, which recently sank in Loot Lake and turned it into a purple bounce house.
What does the image mean?
Are all theories wrong? Fans are understandably confused, as the image does not fit the previous theories at all. Recently, it was assumed that the cube would create a rift in the dimensions.
From that, evil versions of the “good” skins from the game would emerge. At least this was suggested by the final teaser image from Season 5.
Other players expected a volcanic eruption in Loot Lake. Or an invasion of aliens related to the Enforcer, the bonus skin from Season 5.
None of this fits the DJ llama, who is likely to be the first skin from the new Battle Pass.
A nod to PUBG?
Is this the Fortnite version of Deadmau5? The llama-headed DJ could be a nod to Deadmau5. He is a DJ who performs with a huge mouse mask. Additionally, Deadmau5 is a well-known streamer of Fortnite’s competitor PUBG.
Between the two games, there has already been plenty of bad blood, including a ultimately unsuccessful lawsuit from PUBG against Fortnite for copyright infringement.
So it could very well be that Epic is having a little joke and bringing a DJ with a llama mask into their own battle royale game. Llamas are known to be the mascots of Fortnite.
Is that “Back to the Future”? Other players see the outfit of the llama as a reference to the movie “Back to the Future”. Therefore, they suspect a “futuristic theme”.
Is the cube making a comeback?
Interesting detail: In the background of the teaser image, another purple cube can be seen. Is it the cube “Kevin” from Season 5, which actually sank in Loot Lake? Or will there be more cubes in Season 6 rolling around and changing the map?
Until the Start of Season 6 on September 27, there is still some time. Hopefully, the upcoming teasers will provide more insight into the theme.
