Experience travel is in trend. Hotels are perfectly tailored to the needs of specific target groups. In Taiwan, a hotel is now fully focused on gamers.
Whoever browses a travel catalog will come across hotels that have a specific target group in mind:
- one hotel promises a romantic atmosphere, wanting to pamper couples
- the next focuses on wellness and family, maybe more for older visitors, promoting a calm and serene environment
- another hotel is all about fun and excitement, looking to hook up singles or entertain them with events
In Taiwan, there is a hotel that is even more specifically aimed at attracting a target group: gamers.
Game on vacation – without handhelds and laptops!
The gaming hotels “i hotel” in the Taoyuan district lure with offers to satisfy every gamer’s need.
The rooms are equipped with two high-end computers each. With a GeForce GTX 1080Ti, the machines offer decent performance. They are thus stronger than most gaming computers that often only have the mid-range graphics card GTX 1070 installed.

The peripherals also look impressive. An Asus ROG Strix Impact gaming mouse and a matching keyboard give gamers full control while playing on the 32-inch monitor from Asus. Added is a luxury that probably most gamers do not own: a real gaming chair!
No desire for an overnight stay? Hourly rates are also available
One night in the hotel costs about 100 dollars per room. However, one can also just show up to game, without having to rent a room. In the hotel lobby, there are 12 connected computers with the same components as those in the rooms.

An hour of gaming costs just 12 dollars on weekends, and fifteen hours are available for 75 dollars. An ideal location to game with friends for an evening on high-end computers.
You can get a small impression from the hotel’s introductory video. Although it is in Chinese, the main things can still be recognized from the images. You can find the hotel chain’s website in the sources.
You don’t have to travel all the way to Thailand to find a gaming hotel. In Amsterdam, there is a closer alternative with “The Arcade Hotel”. This hotel focuses on retro alongside high-tech and offers guests the chance to lose themselves in VR or game on the old Atari 2600.
Perhaps a hotel in Germany will soon discover gamers as a new target group.
